These must be the Nephilim of the Bible that were descended from the ones who fell from the sky and the daughters of humans. A medicine man friend was told by his mentor of a flying basket that became disabled and was buried in SW Colorado on a mountain. @twodogs1890 I believe that the Bible was just documenting stories from earlier oral tradition when the Nephilim are mentioned. The work of Zecharia Sitchin and others speak at length about these beings from another planet who come every so often. @1charlastar Interesting, I was speaking to the head of the Dutch Reform church about this very thing last night, after I read your comment, he said pretty much the same thing as you are, with the addition of this....."of course it all stems back to the oral tradition and remember these stories are alagory's for life".....

This sounds like the "Giants" that came from the stars that are spoken of in the Summerian tablets. The tablets say that some of the 'Giants' treated the people well (as in this Taos Publeo story)...and that others treated the people in a horrific manner (cannibalism, slaves, etc). I would know more of these Taos Publeo stories, if it were possible.

@manyfires4 Exactly!!! Have you heard that the researchers say that the Anasazi were eating each other at the end of their society. It's not true, something was eating them, I believe it was bad giants. Then the people split up and became the pueblos and possibly the navajo and apache people as well.

I read about the Summerian tablets and what they said about these Giants and how most did not treat the people of Earth well but that there were other Giants (smaller groups) that disagreed with how the humans were being treated and hid out in remote areas near Native tribes (many tribes of stories of Giants). Apparently, the ones near the Taos Publeo and the Utes have stories that 'their' Giants concentrated on treating each other in a good way.

I believe they may have been 'stuck' on Earth and simply died out. The tribes that had a good relationship with them, gave them food and skins. But to be that large and require large amounts of food and still remain hidden must have been challenging. But I feel they just died out. Sometimes I think that it was these 'Giants' (that meant the people of Earth well), that gave the indigenous people a sense of honor and respect and taught them to treat each other well.

I love this video and you should too! This story evokes a sense of responsibility to the earth and conditions an umbilical connection between nature and spirit. I am first generation Christian but my cultural heritage is Shamanistic. In comparing this with the Story of Jesus Christ, the Bible portrays no responsibility to Earth. This story does Exactly that. Its like how a child has to respect parents from time of birth. It also has Depth which is need when dealing the the spirit-side of things.

@TheMadisonHang I have thought often about the same thing. It seems the christian attitude is that all of this is here for them. But really, we were supposed to live with nature, not dominate it. They may give prayers of thanks, but they thank him, not the earth or the animal that made a sacrifice to feed them.
