Additionally, I get the sense it is about pursuing dreams or spots of joy/happiness in life and facing the trials of the pursuit while letting go of people who may be holding you back. I don't know why , but I associate this a bit with mark wahlberg's character in THE FIGHTER.

Canacef - It's sounds to me like the possible perspective is from a person who can't live up to the expectations of certain members of their family... like perhaps the character singing and the brother are each running after two separate and different dreams than their mother has for them.

If you say you are sorry to your mother and brother, then why do you say later that you wouldn't have it any other way? I think this song is sort of rude to your poor mother and brother. Am I interpreting this song incorrectly?
