  • @josgvis you are so right...at least the top 25...he is amazing

  • ..SUITE...XD

  • ONE OF THE BEST SONGS EVER RECORDED IN HISTORY

  • great performances by stills

  • Comment removed

  • Steve looks in great shape and in great voice, Graham nash is enjoying himself and the 'Cros' is just about staying awake....but, it still sounds fantastic regardless.

  • David Crosby's mental note during the show: remember to breathe.

  • Great find! Stephen Stills truly belongs in the top 25 best guitar players of the world!

  • Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That's Joni Mitchell in the green dress next to him during 4+20!

  • @ectoholm

That's what I thought too, but couldn't be sure, not knowing where it was recorded. She's holding herself very still, as one professional would in order not to draw attention away from the performer. And if that is Joni, then I'm prepared to believe that the camera cuts briefly to an equally rapt Bruce Cockburn just before the jump to Judy Blue Eyes. Where the hell would this have been? Somewhere in Canada I presume.

  • @drazzellstarfish , 1st part is actually from a Dick Cavett show just after woodstock..joni is beside him and i also think some of jefferson airplane members are among them

  • is Nash in the middle high!!!! lol

  • went to a csn concert in my hometown of charleston last year i was surprised at how much they've still got especially david crosby after almost dying

  • David Crosby is totally obliterated. That was sad, in a way.

  • POST.--STEVEN STILLS PONCHO IS THAT OF A BEST TIMES*

  • EVER THE BEST!!--S.STILLS IS GREAT--GREAT PERF>THS 4THIS POST---NO RAIN,NO RAIN,NO RAIN,--WOODSTOCK ANNIVERSARY IS NEAR*

  • Hell, they cut out the end! The best part of the song! You newbies listen to another version.

  • @iseebluepeople

That is the end of that version, at least on the DVD I have, I think anyway.

I went to a CSNY concert in San Diego in about 1969 or so, so I am probably not a newbie!

I also saw Janis Joplin in concert, now that dates me back a few decades!

  • @TJDOZIER1 I can relate, I DJ at a topless club, I stated I was at the Beatles last concert in '66 in San Francisco (I was 11, my brother took me)the only comments were not "wow cool", the comments were "wow you're old, I wasn't even born"

  • @TJDOZIER1 I think I saw Janis and Jimmy Hendrix jam together at a West Palm Beach FL Festival around 1967? Or was i trippin'

  • @CoachEJK

Its hard to remember what really happened back then, and what we think happened. To many tabs, to many lines, to many tokes,..oh God, I long for the days of the hippes at Ocean Beach in San Diego hanging out on the strand or the pier, getting high, concerts with real music, walking down the street hearing Jimmie, Janis and all the classial rock stars blaring from apartment windows. Nobody called the cops, nobody got beat up nobody got shot, everybody getting high. Those were the days

  • @CoachEJK Well, you know what they say: if you can remember the 60s... you weren't really there.

  • Jonie mitchel and the band of jefferson airplain

  • Great song

  • Damn...his voice...THEIR voices are just incredible. Stills just keeps gettin' better and better.

  • That guitar solo made my nose bleed!

  • Crosby, Stills & Nash -- I just love everything they've put out ever

  • Crosby, Stills & Nash -- I just love everything they've put out

  • nice copy of 4 + 20! Be nice to separate it from Suite: Judy Blue Eyes. You trying to make a point about the ravages of time?

  • nice copy of 4 + 20! Be nice to separate it from SuiteL: Judy Blue Eyes. You trying to make a point about the ravages of time?

  • I think I see some birds nesting in Crosby's hair.

  • Everyone knows Crosby and Nash can sing...but Stills voice slays me when it's on his own terms. Truly awesome.

  • crosby looks drugged up and confused. nash looks kind of gay. stills looks like the creepy old uncle who stole george hw bush's glasses

  • @ejectorerector what a positive comment. haha

  • @ejectorerector Thinking about what you type... before you type, is a good thing.

  • I love this mans music! I saw CSNY april 2000 they played their 1999 album and then everthing from the past . it was killer! i loved this video thanx

  • Wonder Stills came up with theseguitar tunings himself or if picked up somewhere. Never heard the story on that

  • Joni Mitchell looked good in green...

  • Crosby, Stills and Nash, é lenda.

  • 2:10 JORMA KAUKONEN and JACK CASADY ?!? WOWOWOWO!!!

  • let me start by saying I love Slayer Pantera Maiden Priest then theres Carly Simon etc. but this song is so fuckin awesome . this is when the the real voices were heard the awesome and talented people with beautiful natural voices. Nowadays any fuckin body can make a freakin album like this TI autotune shit, well maybe T I is good I dont know I could never get into this new R&B crap but to show you I am versitile I also love NWA snoop eminem 2 live but man this song never gets old

  • im 16 i love this song haha

  • have you ever been so high you can't move an inch while on stage...David Crosby has!

  • @mothulicka ..on a scale of 1-10 how high is that?

  • @mothulicka That's called very very intense singing. Very.

  • @mothulicka crosby was bobbin his head but joni was in a trance lol love joni

  • Stephen Stills is a music god........... he IS music.....I love all of CSN, but to me, Stills is the heart...... I never realized how much of their music is not just his voice but his guitar also.......

  • I am 51 and try to explain to my 13 year old daughter about the time when music was music and harmony and long ballads were cool..She loves Dave Bowie and Zeppelin so I am winning her over slowly..

  • @teacrazymama ;) like the song says, "teach your children" you're doin' a great job!

  • Im pretty sure they are all Blazed, David is just chillin, and Graham is going crazy and making weird expressions, and Stephen is just making beautiful Music.

  • ouch....

  • Is he good !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hell

  • Thanks TJ!! Crosby really showed his acoustical expertice!! Great memories of seeing them in concert in California when I was 16 with my older girlfriends. Wow! Thanks for the memories!!

  • CSNY ils ont baigné toute ma jeunesse encore aujourd'hui quand je les écoute je me sens jeune

  • great great acoustical 4 + 20 piece!!

  • genius.

  • Wonderful... and yes, Joni was there.

    Please, negative guys...just go away!

    This so fine.................

  • That was FABULOUS. The early clip with Stills singing in obviously a writers circle with the beautiful young Joni Mitchell in the green dress admiring his work. Great post. Thanks.

  • I see Jorma and Jack there too

  • Crosby and Nash are both stoned out of their minds... but obviously not on the same shit.

  • The Guitar bit at teh end drives me nuts ,So off putting ,ruins a fantastic brilliant song

  • they sound great but watching grahm nash makes me wanna poke my eyes out..what a turd

  • I am 107 years old and I still love this song!!!!!!

  • @greazychicken i can not believe that 10 ppl actually believe you

  • @greazychicken Are you actually 107!! that is a huge accomplishment. im glad to see that you appreciated hippie music, although you would have been in your sixties for the release of this song.

    Keep on livin man.

  • Comment removed

  • @greazychicken I am 53 and I luuuuuvvvvvvvvvvvvv this song and i luuuuuuuuuuuuuuvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv the way the did it. uaually I like them to stay close to the original recording but this was sooooooooo coolllllllllll! from David's smile to Grham sbouncy high pitch perfection to Stephens awesome suite acoustic How raucous How sublime How perfect? I am so glad I got to see them live afew years back in Hilo Hawaii I hope they come back soon

  • @greazychicken Really 107 eh? Your channel page says your 34. Way to fool people to give you votes. You know what they say all is fair in love war and getting thumbs up...

  • @greazychicken No Shit!!

  • @greazychicken No Shit!! Funny how we look back to the good tunes, the meaning never changes

  • i see you joni

  • Friggen fantastic,,When you got talent you just got talent.

All these guys need is their voices and a uitar ,That is great

  • MrSteveUtah is right...they don't even need a guitar, they sound good with just a uitar.

  • Lets all Laugh at Steve shall we

  • Beautiful......

  • These guys are just amazing,They can stand up there with ONE guitar and three connective voices and make it sound so dam incredible..That is talant I say

  • Qué arrechamente particular toca Stephen Stills esa guitarra!!

  • Yeah,what he said

  • Im 17 and i know this right here is timeless music

  • I am 62 yrs old and still LOVE this song. Harmonies personified.

  • Perfection of lyrics and harmony; ageless and timeless. We're lucky to have been around since they formed .... How many roads have we all travelled to be at the place we now are.........

  • Haunting.... Love this stuff. I think Deja Vu is in top 10 albums of all time

  • some of the finest harmonies your ever likely to hear pay attention assholes were asking questions later

  • 4+20 sounds like a Michael Nesmith song. Even Stephen sounds like Mike in this one.

  • I think I heard Dick Cavett's voice right at the start...

  • Joni Mitchell, Jack Casidy, Jorma Kaukonen -- what show was this, anybody recognize the format?

  • It was the Dick Cavett show recorded something like the Monday after Woodstock.

  • Joni is just sitting there enjoying the music ('til her turn to play). Back then everyone could be a fan of one-another's stuff without playing "diva" and wanting the stage all to one's self. It's a shame how everyone is on such an ego trip nowadays.

  • fancylogo , I did not see Jack Cassidy anywhere (?), just a really young Dick Cavett.

  • @juliannisaakfan

Go to 2:09, you'll see Jorma lower left and Jack upper right

  • @juliannisaakfan Go to 2:09 and you'll Jorma lower left & Jack upper right

  • @fancylogo I'm pretty sure this was the weekend of Woodstock.... I remember seeing a video of them doing The Dick Cavett Show with Jefferson Airplane and Grace Slick was talking about how awesome this concert was this weekend, and Hendrix was supposed to be there also, but he was so tired from just gettting back that day from the Woodstock Music Festival in upstate NY, he cancelled out last minute!!!!!!!!!!

  • All they have is a guitar and they sound so dam brilliant,Just shows the talent here

  • Stills sure is on drugs

  • @MrSteveUtah you watched this and stills is the one who stood out as being intoxicated? perhaps, but less so than crosby and nash :)

  • is that Jack and Jorma at 2:10?

  • I second the best song here...stills is a guitar ace!

  • 4+ 20. One of the best songs, I've ever known

  • i think crosby was ill by then ...

  • yeah...he was somewhere else

Not even his moustouche moves on this video.

  • en música esto es lo mas preciado que en mi vida he oído, y he cantado junto a mis compañeros de música dios les bendiga siempre su voces de ángeles

  • It's awesome the way SS's guitar sounds in SJBE, the only way I know to describe it is an open metallic sound. Anyone out there know how SS get's his guitar to sound the way? Great post.

  • i know he has the low end turned way down and the higher frequencies turned up on his EQ, and also the open tuning he uses (Bruce Palmer Modal or DADDAD depending on the recording) seems to naturally sound metallic when i tune my guitar into that. and maybe he also uses bluegrass weight strings on top of all that. other than those three things its a mystery to me

  • Crosby is indeed fucked, get the dvd and watch him try to play Delta. Its kinda scary how good he was stoned.

  • well thats when you play the best. Thats just the facts some of the best guitar sounds came out of the stoned times.

  • can't decide what I love best about this the suite: judy blue eyes portion of the video - that crosby is completely smashed, that nash is shoeless and wearing a ridiculous shirt, or the actual music.

  • Crosby is off his face but this version is incredibly brilliant - the singing is fantastic

  • it hurts soo much whats to do

  • AWESOME!!!!!!

  • Joni Mitchell sitting next to Steven....cool

old video. thanks for sharing! PEACE

  • Cros is definitely wasted on the way.....

  • an age goneby, priceless.

  • you might also like lobelia sound i need my home let us know??????
