You can't exclude Joe Satriani from a list like that. The pitch axis theory is also a crucial part of fusion guitar plating these days and he invented that.

@Uberloinvongenchler Most important? Are you kidding? The most important ones is the ones who knows the harmony in and out, like Pat Metheny, John Scofield, and Kurt Rosenwinkel. The guys you mentioned are good at playing fast, but their lines is not original. And they suck at playing chords.

"Resident Alien" is a track from the cd A PRESENT FOR THE FUTURE and the title of a recent Gambale offical bootleg, but Allan is not playing in these. (Sorry for my bad english!)
