  • He sings with a whole lot of soul for a New York Jewboy. By the way, I'm a New York Jewboy myself so I'm allowed to make jokes like that. However, if I catch anyone else making jokes like that, I will be just too happy to circumsise them with a chainsaw.

  • @deathtosmurfs wierdo

  • I fucking love you Neil Diamond

  • Happy Birthday

  • I played this song on a jukebox in a bar one night. A friend said "you know that song is about a bottle of wine don't you?". Wow. That really makes sense.

  • Except for her children of the poets born, "All men count with her but none too much."

  • "Tiny Dancer" danced in his head the whole but he never knew.

  • He is close but he is another imposter. God have mercy when we meet number 7. Neil is number 6.

  • Is the first amendment barred from this page?

  • Skate 3 got the music right ¡

  • Is it me or does he look like Forrest Gump?

  • @sandyland121 Will ferrell is making fun of Neil Diamond.

  • @sandyland121 he does look like Forest Gump. I am glad you noticed.

  • I have been looking for this freaking song all over. I had the wierdest flash back the other day, and it must have been from when I was in my crib, and my mother had this playing on the record player next to me. Its was more feeling and sound than anything, but one line of melody kept playing in my head and I couldn't remember anything other than it was Neil Diamond. Its been literally four weeks I've been going absolutely bonkers. Thank you!!

  • Gawd he was hot and what a talent.

  • Neil Diamond was quite a dish back in the day.

  • @chikinbonez please tell me your kidding?

  • @anya933 I wish I was born in the 80's, they made really good rap and rock music back then, and I also love their style of clothing. btw i'm 17

  • Mrgerandl is right im 15 years old And i can stand some rap but it just doesnt have the same spirit as the classics. I guarente that if an old school band started up they would make millions

  • Comment removed

  • @MrGerardnl I guess you want a pat on the back because you listen to country music..newflash, country is the most popular type of American music and most sellling...PS, I like rap and they also called blues, RNb and rock shit too...Ask Johnny and , Willie if they cared about that...nope...

  • @skyiscrying53

no , im only saying , im one of the guys who dont listin to rap in this era....

  • @MrGerardnl i dont listen to rap either, congrats faggot

  • Voz diferente e linda! Maria Rita

  • @anya933 Not quite, I'm 16 and I think my generation sucks, I'm sitting here wishing I lived 40 years ago instead of listening to all this yo yo yo bullcrap that I here all over the place, or even worse this new techno stuff that doesn't even have meaning. But I get what you're saying.

  • I'm amazed how chill he is on stage, and how mellow the low part is, he's almost doing nothing, and then he busts out with that great voice. It's 'lounge', and yet, its authentic, brilliant songwriting at the same time.

I dont think we're getting back to the songwriting of the 20s-70s. It's weird that every one of those decades had great songwriting somewhere, and the 80s and 90s a bit, and then last ten years ZERO. Prob bcuz America/Jizsrael loves its guns and money more than its artists.

  • i wonder if todays music will still get played in 40 years?????? doubt it

  • Gorgeous Man gorgeous song, Wasn't he a sexy looking guy in those prime days

of his. I wish I Had a computer so I could catch on him on You Yube. Now I can evn

many years, have gone by my heart is still for him and forever. Thanks for this video...

  • The first time I heard this song, I was 8 years old and on a 2 hour road trip to see my grandmother. I have liked it ever since!!!

  • It's a good tune, but I don't think it was worthy of being a number one single. Sorry.

  • @kja427 Take more anti-depressants. Sorry.

  • SO good-looking. They don't make men like Neil any more. I used to think he was singing about a girl, called Rosie. Wrong! He's singing about rose wine, which was a substitute for a woman on a Friday night. I listened to him a while ago on Radio 2, in which he explained the meaning of this song.

  • @anya933 Cracklin Rose wa the popular hooch of workers in the Canadian North

  • Best sing on Skate 3 ever!! Neil Diamond is a great singer

  • he rocks.

  • Tis a powerful man that can make tweeners moist after forty years

  • His performances still are fabulous , saw him yesterday in Antwerp , Belgium . My god it was so good .

  • Neil''s live performance sounds as good as his recorded version--very few live band performances do that--its his consistant vocal/interpretive qualities. Most groups have to do the recorded version for whatever reason.

  • @windstorm1000 Sorry to inform you of this, but this performance was lip synched.

  • thats my girls song

  • This is my favorite fuckin song on Skate 3.

  • play it now, play it now

  • best freakin Neil Diamond song ever

  • als teenie war ich total verknallt in neil!!!

  • He likes a "Zezé", of brazilian group "Zezé Di Camargo E Luciano"!

  • I'm glad people don't dance like that anymore.

  • Love this song, thanks for sharing.

  • Skate 3 brought me here

  • After playing skate 3 this song is so adictive

  • @MrPlaystationboy I actually just skip the rest of the songs and replay this one constantly.

  • @MrPlaystationboy YES YES YES! LOL

  • @MrPlaystationboy this is excactly how i found this song

  • @MrPlaystationboy aint that the truth, mwhaha. i love this song though.

all the oldies on that game are the shit., they got that trackist right on

  • Love Him brilliant!

  • Those lips, oh my goodness

  • Fuckin Jews

  • THIS IS MY SONG TIL END OF TIME, SING NEIL XXXX

  • @amgold66 That's Jim Carrey dressed as Andy Kaufman...

  • @TheDevilsSwitchboard no its not. is neil diamond in a tv

  • Fuckin great song and I'm only 28 years old. Brilliant music back then.

  • He is so incredibly handsome. SWOON . . .

  • who the hells that at 1:26?

  • i heard today that he wrote this song about the cheap wine, "Richard's Wild Irish Rose", which I indulged in once or twice back in the 70s. I recommend it for hand-to-hand combat purposes only! Explains a few of the lines in the song, like "Cracklin' Rose, you're a store-bought woman!

  • @msanner06 you are very correct xx

  • here is something to think about. If Neil Diamond, at this age in the clip , was to audition for "American Idol" of today , I wonder what the judges would comment on ?

  • @hermiehermit The judges should have nothing to say because Neil's music and talent would blow them all out of the water. None of those judges can meet Neil's musical ability. It would be like telling Babe Ruth how to play baseball; or telling Abraham Lincoln how to lead a country. Of course those are subjective examples, but you understand what I'm trying to say.

  • great retirement home slow dance tune

  • Love this great song forever !

  • I thought i'd heard him say it was his first, cheap guitar...

  • @KevinBerrylicious haha yeah!!!

  • It's odd how many great pieces of music wind up being love songs written about alcohol.

  • SKATE 3!!!!

  • er singt aus der lunge und nicht aus dem kopf, das hört man

  • Cracklin' Rosie is a cheap wine that Native Canadians drank. It is a rose' wine.

They would go into town to find women and those that didn't would ride the train back with a bottle. I heard Neil say this.

  • I LOVE the dancing audience members! I'm 22 and this song is on my top 10 songs list haha, cant get enough :)

  • @wonderfulectric Neil Young transcends time and space. that's awesome u have him on ur top 10. they knew how to party back in the 70's lol

  • Neil Diamond looks hhot in this. <3

  • Yes, you're right survivrs (not having a senior moment-haha!). They both went

to Erasmus High School in Flatbush, Brooklyn. Heard that both of them were

    kicked out of the chorus!!!

  • She's not a girl -- she's a bottle of wine. Neil Diamond told Rolling Stone that he got the idea from an Indian tribe in Canada with a much higher male than female population. When the guys with girlfriends all went out on dates, the bachelor guys got together and drank homemade hooch. You can actually buy a crackling rosé.

  • i wanna be just like him !!!!

  • Hes singing about a bottle of wine " a store bought woman"

  • This song was 40 years ago no.8 in the world charts #neil #diamond

  • He was awesome in Boston at the Pops 2 yrs ago they should have him back. The man knows how to entertain I watched it on tv was glued too the set!He had the crowd rocking everyone loved him!You still have it Neil!

  • A great song and nice to see Neil when he wasn't smaltzy. Man in fact in prior videos he had more and appropriate moves. Another fav of mine is YOU got to ME and of course Solitary Man .. released twice .. maybe 67 and 70 ?

  • This song was 40 years ago no.9 in the world charts #neil #diamond

  • so beautiful!

  • Was that Ed Stewart being a complete tit at 1.25?

  • This song was 40 years ago no.9 in the world charts

  • I have loved Neil Diamond for over 40 years. He is just the best and he has finally been nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He has seemingly been blackballed for almost 20 years, but he has finally been nominated. I certainly hope he is inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. This is a long overdue honor.

  • Finally! Jann Wenner is a wanker.

  • 1970年大ヒットでした。

    素晴らしい曲です

  • feeling nostalgic tonight as I sip my Merlot :) It took me years to figure out the store bought woman, but I finally got it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • so yeah I passed out in a cab in AU but my boss said when this song came on you came to life and sung it word for word. Drunkin foolishness :)

  • yeah! Proof we were not short on euphemisms in the 70s ! A great song.

  • He is awesome...i love him!

  • Far too good looking, writes and sings amazing songs, and a legend. I hate him! :-)

  • the boy is a legend

  • It's an understatement to say Neil Diamond is AMAZING.

  • Beautyfull music, i like this kind of music, this music never die.....members.....

  • I woke up with this song in my head this morning. My step-mom is a Diamond fan, me not so much. BTW this is a song about hooch made and enjoyed by native Canadian tribes.

  • Incredible.

  • wish there was more singers like him......... his music rocks

  • What a man, what a song

  • for me ole m8 Emma Mills XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

  • so freakin nice!

  • he is the bestest fucking artist in the world he writes all the songs the hole bands notes all that awsome studd he is the best!!!!!!!!!!

  • When I was very young, I used to play this with the arm off the record player, so it endlessly repeated. Drove my sisters mad.

  • SOOPER SONG

  • SOOPER SONG

  • Yeah,,,drank my fill of, 'a poor man's lady,' while flying down the road in a '64 mustang, filled with four guys and a case of 'Rosie.'

Funny thing is, seemed like every time we tried the radio, we ended up belting out, "Sweet Caroline," at 70 mph on a narrow two lane black top country road.

Those were the days of invincibility. At that age, you believe you'll live forever,,,,,just like the music.

    Peace.

    Rock

  • Neil Diamond is so much better than Barry Manilow. Have you seen Barry Manilow lately? He looks like Topo Gigio.. a little Italian mouse shown on The Ed Sullivan Show in the 60's. Plastic face.... I love Neil Diamond!

  • He doesn't BLINK!

  • A great songwriter, and a great performance. But the hair! And the go-go dancer in the background! This is a song you can appreciate because it's so good, but at the same time you can laugh at some of the period touches.

  • @pytlozvejk1 It's the period touches that make it so charming.

  • wooo Niel Diamond

  • Love it! What a voice!!!!!!

  • Great post. Thanks for sharing.

  • PURE SEXINESS! i love Neil so much!!!! im speechless! omg hes so gorgeous! :)

  • Great!

  • ".....cuz we got all night..."

  • I've said it before and I'll say it again, Neil Diamond's high school vocal teacher said he would never go anywhere with music-HA!!! The wicked old witch was incredibly wrong and we were incredibly lucky that he didn't take her to heart. BTW, did you know that Neil and Barbra Streisand went to the same h.s. in NewYork-Brooklyn I believe but not sure. Having a senior moment right now.

  • @survivrs yes i heard it too that Neil and Barbra were on the same high shool

but there duett of "you don't bring me flowers" is very great :)

  • @survivrs I'd like to add, that whoever this person was (his H.S. Vocal Coach) could not have been more tone deaf herself....his pitch is REALLY good..especially considering all the pure crap that comes outta hollyweird these days...autopitch and whathaveya...

  • @AKMAC82 Thanks for the positive reply regarding his voice as well as his pitch. I would agree that she was more than likely tone deaf! Thanks for your comment, I truly appreciated it! I have loved ND ever since the first time I heard that sond and I am 50 now!

  • @AKMAC82 forgive me, what I meant to say was the first time I heard that SONG, it was the first one I heard, but by the mid 70's, I was very familiar with all of his older music as well. He truly is awesome!

  • @survivrs Neil Diamond has always described himself as being very sensitive(which he is) but he also has an incredible faith in himself which is the reason he has made it so long in the business. He certainly faced a great deal of rejection before he hit it big in the mid sixties.

  • @pie0my I think I remember reading that about him but I keep having more senior moments. Maybe I'll take his autobiography with me next week when my husband has surgery and I can read up on Neil again. I've had the book since the 70's so there is nothing current in it which I love. I remember the long hair and his "oldies" although in season 7 of American Idol, they had a week of Neil Diamond and on Youtube, David Cook is singing with Neil coaching. My 2 favorites for old and new!!!
