  • Interestingly, this is the summer of `67, 10 months after Nat won the world title, you guys are still into gliding and hanging 5/10 on boards that look to be well over 9ft,.and nothing wrong with that . Here in OZ , Mctavish and everyone else are into 8`6" V bottoms with 15"Greenough fins and going vertical .

  • I still have a long board shaped by dick Catri from when I worked for a surf shop down at south beach, Miami called "west coast east" and dick shaped boards there for awhile.

I surfed with Jack Murphy at 21 street before. Buddy Gardner worked there as well before he opened his own shop in haileah.

Good old days of surfing south beach. Every other weekend it was to Canavral pier. I surfed with most of the people im this clip there . Nice memories, thanks for the clip.

  • I live next door to his granddaughter!! Fool!!!!! What! what!

  • Lots of good memories. Thanks for the video, Balsa Bill.

  • Well I guess I should also since no one else has comment on Daddy Dick. For those that don't know Dick was one of the first people to try and popularize the sport on the east coast. Was most famous in the early days for being a friend of Jack,Murf the surf Murphy. He was a good friend and introduced me to a crew on the west coast that made my life surfing there quite pleasant.
