  • Here's the thing about the south that a lot of folks don't get.....we don't CARE if the rest of the world thinks we're stupid. In the end, we are as smart as anyone else, as successful as anyone else and as happy as anyone else. If it makes the rest of America happy to laugh at us a bit, well, that's okay. Their punishment is that they don't get to live in the south.

  • Thanks for uploading these. Rich Hall is one of my favorite comedians. He is sadly overlooked here in the states, but I'm happy to hear that he gets the recognition that he deserves in the UK. As for this documentary, it's nice to see someone combat the ignorant hayseed racist yokel stereotype that Hollywood typically paints us to be.

  • the irony is Rich uses the souther stereotype in his stand up

  • And how well has Rich Hall done portraying the typical southerner with his character Otis Lee Crenshaw?

  • Immediately followed by "God's Little Acre". The British sure do love irony, don't they?

  • fucking brilliant...

  • Awesome

  • thank you for the documentary it changed my view of the south.

  • I've lived in Alabama all my life, and whoever made this film got it right on the money.

  • Oh.

  • Thanks for uploading this great film.

  • Thanks for the upload. Great viewing!

  • Too bad there wasn't anything said about "Southern comfort".

  • @bonus73 Because we don't drink SoCo on mass scales in the South. We drink bourbon. Jim Beam. Maker's Mark. Wild Turkey. Woodford Reserve. Etc.

  • @kyfan22joey I was talking about te movie. You know, the one with the Cajuns and the soldiers.

  • i bet those southerners who cames to James Dickey's aid probably wished they'd have left him to drown after the terrible way he portrayed them in Deliverance.

overall a brilliant documentary, noone other than Rich Hall could have made it so entertaining.

  • @thedarknesscallingme I guess you didn't pay any attention to Hall's analysis then.

  • @WalterLiddy

actually i did, the story of deliverance is about modern man going up against the harsh natural wilderness and getting more than they bargained for. the men of the south are simply a part of the savagery of nature itself, not separate individuals from the land in which they inhabit. i was merely making a comedic point about how james Dickey turned a true event on its head as writers often tend to do

  • @thedarknesscallingme speaking as a canoeist, it's bloody embarrassing.

  • @thedarknesscallingme The river looks good fun, though :) if I ever end up in Georgia I might grab a kayak and head down there

  • Loved this!Thanks for uploading.
