  • That fucking brilliant, well done.

  • Nothing like Northern Soul dancing really!!!

  • hell noo. it didint start there.

  • Bless em.........they can't even afford a full Hoola Hoop

  • All kidding aside this is a huge contributing factor to the evolution of not just soul but all music!

  • This video made me giggle - wasnt like the way we used to dance to this at the Catacombs, Wolverhampton, we would go mad to this, long long time ago! Love it, I have it on vinyl but cant play it now so this is great.

  • ROFLMAO!!! thanx for making me smile.

  • HEY dance is dance.

  • The British youth of the 60s and 70s latched onto obscure Black American tracks but the way they danced to it is really interesting. Where did this come from? Did this style of dancing go back to America with the musicians and influence break dancing?

  • Don't be so hard on yourself.

  • The blonde one came 2nd at Blackpool Tower dance competition lol

  • um... yunno soul dancing from the 60s? it started with african americans. why do you think it looks like the charleston or tap dance or american house dancing. mods in the 60s thought american soul music was cool and they copied the dances...

  • Great song, what is it?

  • Bert's Apple Crumble by The Quik. Issued in the UK on Deram in 1967.

  • So good fun !

  • @jimmytheferret , had a bit of a giggle at this - not like I remember dancing to it at the Catacombs - we used to go mad to this, I have it on single but cant play it now so it brought back great memories! Loved it , loved the CATS

  • MoN3teRr rOaR!!! KTF

  • Its all become clear now.........the music fits the clip just perfect........I Laughed my spuds off..!

  • We may laugh at this and I did but all dancing is connected to some extent.

I`ve recently noticed that some of the excellent Northern Soul steps practiced in Wigan Casino in the 1970`s actually closely resemble the `Charelston` dance which was 50 years earlier...So there ya go !!

  • The 50's saw a dance which 'borrowed' from the Charleston too, it was called the hand jive...Get my coat too wll ya ..LOL

  • apparantley Morris dancing comes from Moorish dancing... now where's my anorak got to???

    LOL!!!

  • good work!

  • Maravilloso

  • You could have almost passed this as early 70s' except for the 53 plate Range Rover :-)

  • that was a time traveller..

  • Aahh James dear boy,

you have surpassed yourself - if only you could stay bored for longer, what gems you could unearth.

Reminds me of a time, not so long ago and not so very far way - when men danced around each other like rutting stags. Beer and heathen music, the foundation stones of being - not forgetting the everlasting jubbly.

Patrick Lichfield was my neighbour, you know!!!

    Regards

    Dave

  • Rumour back then was that Ian's dad owned half of blackpool front ! I bet he sat there looking out at the pier in his deckchair...

  • I was wondering where I got my dance routine from. Spooky. LOL

  • i must admit it is true.i used to go to the east anglia morris dancers asociation on thursdays to practice my dancing.ready for friday nights allnighter at the warrina peterborough, and then on to saturday night at the casino.if it were not for the east anglis morrisers i would never have found northern soul. pete from hemel ktf

  • Very funny mate!!!!! I'm sure you got some non-brit new NS converts very confused!

  • Rumour back then was that Ian's dad owned half of blackpool front ! I bet he sat there looking out at the pier in his deckchair...

  • Nice funny concept.....but not actually true, Ian and his son now are still down to earth and not as arrogant as they could be considering what he put in to 'Our Scene'.......Levine is the rich boy fag who was born with a silver spoon up his ass.......and still thinks he owns it.........

Sorry.....been around too long and get sick of some who think they have some right to the original and best underground scene that was purely music focused...proof is how little film & photo's exist. Ktf mate

  • @JackMDT8888 Agree wholeheartedly!

  • @kramyelir Cheers mate......forgotten this particular rant of mine, but its still true! I like to say what I think.....without fear of any PC fuckwits telling me what I'm supposed to think!!!

  • Makes sense to me Jez...

  • Funny as fcuk for those of us who have Berts Apple Crumble in their collection!

  • whats it worth ? cream and somtimes custard...
