  • thats my favorite...so sick

  • @ dmh..that holy smoles white collar kiddy porn 3 fimgers for your daughter says some things about the moral decay in society like most of his songs...this dude is very very sharp with the sword

  • 31 ppl are Lil Wayne fans..

  • fuck OFWGKTA this style was way ahead of their time

  • this would be cool now. mind is blown.

  • "My deluxe is fluxes, pivots to where the crux is,

Invade the town while village elders holler 'who the fuck's this?'"

    Too ill

  • mmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmm camp bells good

  • "I'm, AESOP FUCKIN' ROCK Mic Bizarro." idk why but I think that line to "man I plan to die with a micin my hand" is so fucking dope.

  • Anyone have a clue what the beginning intro song is..? It's deeply twisted sounding. I WANT IT!

  • @Siilveryey This video cuts out the intro of the song. On the "Music for Earthworms" album the intro continues for a good 40 seconds or so. I can only assume that is because this is a project and they didn't want to bother with making a video for it.

  • Yeah this song is dope.... He looks like Jimmy Fallon in this video

  • Awesome video and song.

  • Children of Aesop.

  • great song, but could you put it at a higher quality please?

  • "i live for the moment of truth when big willy rapper acknowledges faliure and says go****n my s**t is trash its time to let go/tin man gangin on his chest to hear the echo/heartless kid/ hollow compartments" i couldnt agree more...strait clasic

  • [FRANTTIKK STAMP OF APPROVAL]

  • To understand the lyrics you must be Aesop or beyond, because metaphors exist to cloud it's personal meaning, but in the same time you can fit in your own logic.

  • Take tyler the creator, just add some smarts and nerdiness and some style; you get Aesop Rock

  • @noteastside not at all

  • @noteastside

Take Aesop Rock, take away style, smarts, nerdiness, and add rape and coke bars; you get tyler the creator

  • Dam i miss those MUSH days!!!!

  • It's like sadly, my style spooks juvinilles like Boo Radley.

  • where is the sample at the end from???????? i really need to know!!!!!

  • no mc has more passion for the christ

  • This guys just as confusing as Doom haha this is why i love hip hop...always learning new shit

  • aesop is fucken crazyyy.. soo dope

  • HAHAHA when i read tkam i imagined boo radley as aesop rock

  • @sstorydude lmao yeah me too bro i actually was listening to him during while we reading it back in high school and said to my self "i bet boo is just as badass as aseop"

  • Christian making Biblical Refs.So he isn't inspired by any of "Aesop Fables" the Satire Philosopher could be what inspired the authors of the bible. With the bible being so accepted most lyrics, movies. even Nazis all ref the bible! .2me AesopRocks lyricbook is a harder read than the Bible.AesopRock is so naturally, unnatural, constructive, demolition, linguist, unlimited nyquist. His vocal style/delivery not being imitated in my lifetime?.Slug,El-P,Eyedea, KRS, Chuck D, Icecube,Outkast etc. rule.

  • more music should sound this sketchy

  • In response to @OregonLiving503, I feel ya on the "To Kill a Mocking Bird" reference. He then follows it with an "Apocalypse Now" reference. ("Radically we consume the Col. Kurtz in our platoon soon enough.")

  • Aesop has always been cool.

  • Aesop Rock Is A Lyrical Wizard.

  • I wish i was this creative in college,, or ever

  • He has a monster flow lyrics its crazy

  • Switchblade and Overlord, still paying attention? For example: "Paint combined can't even manage to tell what the swell is. Like, picture your imagery embelished with the hellish." Fairly simple, and yeah it sounds dope cause it ain't glitzy trendy pop bullshit. It's music for earthworms, sounds for the underground

  • Overloard and switchblade, y'all are both tards, you could both find his lyrics all over the internet, it's not just nonsense and they are fairly simple wordings for deep expresions. Decipherable; if you just pay attention, who knows you might just learn something about yourselves.

  • hes a christian trust me ive listened to everything hes ever made.

  • Comment removed

  • @FloWz361 If you have listened to everything he's made you would have heard "By the time I was old enough to know what religion was I was Catholicism numb and truly didn't give a fuck" on Holy Smokes

  • @FloWz361 He's not a Christian. He's agnostic.

  • @Wanabrich1 Are you sure he isn't Atheist?

  • @dmh1069 On his Wikipedia page, it says he's agnostic.

  • @Wanabrich1 It makes sense either way, except that comment saying "he's a christian"

  • @dmh1069 Holy Smokes father, black suit white collar, kiddy porn dungeon guns and three fingers for your daughter.

  • @Ratboymafia That song is pretty funny. But what are you getting at??

  • 26 people like dudes

  • 26 peoples like dudes

  • a great video!! rockandroll

  • "well village elders holla.... who the fuks this"

    shit is too sik

  • Children of the Corn? I think so. Rocks legit

  • i just cant even begin to describe his lyricism and flow. its just beyond anything people can comprehend

  • such a sick song...

  • M P A R E!

  • Am I the only one diggin' the To Kill a Mockingbird reference?

-- ...my style spooks juveniles like Boo Radley --

  • @OregonLiving503 no, plus the subsequent apocalypse now reference

  • @OregonLiving503 in his song "spare a match" he uses another reference to that book, one of his lines is "i scout like atticus finch". i definitely dig it

  • @OregonLiving503 never alone my friend. Aesop is greatest

  • So simple. So dope.

  • Another 240p flanger upload...

  • Abandon All Hope...Mainstream Hip-Hop is DEAD

  • lol wtf is he saying haha

  • Corn on the cob anyone?

  • aesop rock : good lyricalist, GREAT producer. Felt 3 was a monster on production

  • sounds like a spell

  • Comment removed

  • @overlord3069 makes no sense to you cus your primitive way of thinking cant quite grasp the concepts that are portrayed.. you should stick to soulja boy and gucci man.. brrrrrr.. and by the way hes married

  • @switchbladefingers being deliberately over-complex doesn't impress me. you have it completely reverse. It is because i do understand the rhetoric he uses that allows me to understand that it doesn't make sense. Many people become entranced when they hear complex literature and think "Fuck, i dont know what he just said, but it sounded cool." I hate that. That constitutes a big part of his audience, too. I know plenty of MC's who have a wide array of complexity and dont just pick up a thesaurus

  • @overlord3069 i agree that there are people who do listen just because it sounds cool.. but because not every lyric or metaphor is easy or even possible to decipher doesnt mean its just words and noise that sound cool.. i may only really understand a fraction of his music but every time i listen i grasp another lyric or concept that i didnt understand last time and i think thats sick... i can only speak for myself on those thoughts but i do recognize and respect your point

  • @switchbladefingers

    Like

with the video it makes a little more sense to what he wanted to portray

it seemed to me the Straw man and tin man have very valid points towards the old Kabaal system of Law

  • @switchbladefingers There are a lot of biblical references in his lyrics but that aside he's a very clever poet.

  • @switchbladefingers even if there is no specific meaning, it does sound "cool". You don't ask to decipher every note in an instrumental or classical piece for some hidden meaning - why can't rhyme be another instrument used to carry out emotional contexts? this emphasis on deep meaning metaphorics is kind of a sophomoric way to look at postmodern approaches at hip hop.

  • Comment removed

  • @fawler2 I don't mind intellectualism, provided that it isn't taken out of high school art class. When you're looking at the broader context, Asop Rock and the abstract rhyme fits in perfectly.

  • @switchbladefingers spot on

  • @switchbladefingers well put.

  • @overlord3069 It's just his style dude. =I His songs really aren't that hard to understand if you have a little bit of thought. *shrugs* to each their own I suppose.

  • @overlord3069 He has a wife

  • keep ghettoing my ass, it makes me horny

  • music for earthworms....hellz yeah

  • He had me at "sneak attacks on dry leaves".

  • If I was the teacher that assigned this project I'd be like, "Mr. Rock, you get an A+ for the year, and you are excused from class for the remainder of the semester. There is obviously nothing my dumb ass can teach you. Enjoy being awesome."

  • It does make sense you just have to pay actual attention

  • Aes is pretty damn well read/well cultured. def heard references to "to kill a mockinbird" in at least one other song.

  • Where is Aesop Rock from??

  • @12guageINDIANAboy im fairly sure New York. He lived there for a while then moved to L.A.

  • @12guageINDIANAboy

Long Island. Now he lives in SF.

  • @12guageINDIANAboy long island ny

  • this planet is doomed

  • Shit, now I have a headache too...

  • I've followed the conspiricy theories and at this point I find that IF (and that's quite a large if) anything does happen theres no REAL preventing it now....Just drink the Kool-Aid and bob your head

  • @dommer117 thats such a fucking stupid thing to say

  • @TheHipHopSpot perspectives my friend, perspectives; I've chased that whole "theory" and as a normal middle-class American, I can do nothing to stop that "theory" so what's the point in wasting your time chasing something that men in an actual political position cannot discover, you think that rummaging through blogs will "enlighten" you?

  • @dommer117 no but you dont just give up. thats like saying theres a 7 foot 500 pound monster of a guy trying to ass rape you. youre obviously not going to stop him. but you dont just bend over and take it. lol i think you gave up because of that rummaging through blogs comment. you cant just look on the internet to find all the answers. not to mention most things im fighting against isnt theory. there real bills being debated on the floor of congress.

  • @TheHipHopSpot lolololololol but i live in DC, I'm on a debate team, I know what happens, and I apologize because I assumed that you were talking about the whole Illuminati thing going on earlier in the thread...I think THAT is a futile argument, I agree that you can stop the ACTUAL things that the government is doing that is shown through bills, and congressional meetings

  • @dommer117 the illuminati is just a scary way of of talking about these bills and new laws being passed in my opinion. the TSA is a good example of something else thats real and worth fighting against with these crazy pat downs and naked body scanners zapping you with radiation. ive seen soooo many stories and videos about it. like this rape victim that didnt want to get felt up so they threw her to the ground and arrested her. sickening.

  • @TheHipHopSpot true it's good to know someone else whose looking at the real issues affecting contemperary society...I'm beggining to wonder if the whole "illuminati" conspiricay is a huge tangle of misinformation; i've been a believer in it for some years now, but you can't spell believe without LIE, and I feel now that it's just a way to redirect you from things that are truley dangerous to modern society (Federal Reserve, Bilderberg Group, The Trilateral Commission).

  • @TheHipHopSpot

its not the bills and new laws that are scary.

its the Twin towers getting knocked down, putting americans in paranoia and worthless wars while the government snakes oil out from the middle east, and The history they have hidden, the corruption they are installing in the minds of people.

  • all of yall are lame. just post something nice to the video and thats it. thats why you typed it in right? or do you just like reading comments and typing bad comments back at them because you cant do it in real life.

  • P.S. this, spare a match, oxygen, merit, and bring back pluto are aesops best. tell me different

sadly my style spooks juveniles like boo radley

  • the 9-5ers anthem// shovel/// i've been around the universe twice verse// it's not all interesting or understandable/// but listening to his CDs there are truly genuine ideas

  • @bpmcgough Say Battery

  • He's good, but from what I've heard from his fans, is that his metaphors are great, he's so cryptic, some of his stuff isn't supposed to make sense. First off, I believe music, especially hip hop rap etc is a great tool or vessel, if you will, for education, ideas n stories but it also has to be aurally attractive. Metaphors are great. They can translate and reverberate, but it seems it has become his gimic. His only motive is to outdo himself. Not making sense is no way to make people think.

  • @invalid007 a) what color is aurally attractive? or did you mean oral... b) you don't really know anything about his motive unless you know him, which you probably don't. c) i believe the reason people have GIMMICKs is to make money. i don't think he, like most emcees, makes much money from his "gimmick". d) if you're gonna try to sound intelligent use, if you will, spellcheck.

  • @bpmcgough Aural is "of or pertaining to the ear or to the sense of hearing" ...Wow haha

  • i'd say turquoise is aurally attractive if you ever get synesthesia /// either from god or manna/// aes doesn't always know what he's talking about/// no man is absolute truth and he has thought he was telling me the truth when he wasn't

  • @invalid007 Get high and it ll become attractive. get laid while ur at it

    haha yo forreal

  • Getting high makes me paranoid. And trust me, I use a condom. No need for any more of you walkin' around, ey! Am I right? Am I right? haha yo forreal! :D ... :\ What?

  • omg dr420 go make a blog or something, fucking A

  • Note: before you dismiss me, I have research papers at great length about the topics so by all means, question away if you feel I'm bullshitting you or if you don't believe me. And I can't explain Dependency Theory/ Capitalist modes of productions/ Historical Materialism in a youtube post but please, read the fuck up. Why do you think Fox News smears Karl Marx... because they are afraid of what he has to say about their wealth. Think for yourself. and about your comment, gravity is a theory.

  • I ran out of space in my previous comment, but to continue, for your health: The fact that our media portray nations as independent economies of their own will rather then cogs of a larger global socio-economic sphere is proof of the skewed information. J Edgar Hoover is widely known to have coerced media outlets to smear people as "outlandish/ conspiracy nuts/ unamerican" when they were simply spreading truths of injustices. I can keep going if you want. watch your surroundings and question all

  • i think he beat jeepers creepers guy in a rap battle lol

  • aesop rock 4 ever

  • i dont understand shit that he says but it sounds extremely intellectual

  • this creeps the fuck out of me.

  • @madman45mm In for a 2nd fail

  • 666th like for this video=D i feel lucky today now

  • is all of earthworms produced by Dub-L?

  • Aesop Rock said in an interview that some of the things he says make no sense, theyre just supposed to be interpreted by the listener. This is why Aesop Rock is good, kids, because he makes you think. When music becomes so simple and shallower than one's own thoughts then it doesn't stimulate your mind.

WE LIVE TO STIMULATE THE 'ORGAN' THAT COMPRISES OF OUR EXISTENCE - the brain.

  • @BigBirdFire what interview is that? i'd really like to see it.

  • @BigBirdFire Lol he's like the Jackson Polluck of hip hop

  • @BigBirdFire *Pollock sorry

  • @BigBirdFire lol, stimulate the organ

  • @BigBirdFire i can think of another organ i like to stimulate

  • @BigBirdFire *they're

    Grammar Nazi, AWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!

  • @BigBirdFire penis? LOL JK

  • @BigBirdFire He's amazing because he makes us fill in our own meaning to his own words.

We create things more insightful and artistic then he could ever provide us with.

That is why he is a god.

  • I'm assuming Aesop's friend got an A on this project.

  • All Aesops shit from the late 90's is insane.....fucking bananas!!!!!!!!!

  • eyedea like 10 years ago haha, hes not doing much ne more

  • @brakg None Shall Pass in 07, produced Felt 3: A Tribute To Rosie Perez in 09 and has been recording a new album since then, his shit now is better than what he put out in the 90's, i choose to see it as him going with quality over quantity

  • @twixdawabit I couldnt agree more. I was referring to eyedea in my comment. And i know eyedea is doin his thing too, but my point was for the comments about how eyedea is the shit. And i think yah maybe 8 or 10 years ago but not ne more.
