Noticed male firefighter was standing up in the engine while it was responding. Not wearing a seat belt! If a accident did happen you're dead. Then guess what next ? Your girlfriend is dead because you just became a projectile. Just trying to say "be safe brother" safety starts at the station and then ends at station. Complacency Kills! Stay Safe!

I been thinking about being a firefighter ever since i was little when i walked past a station and they invited me in to check out the trucks.Can somebody tell me how to go about being one,i live in philly and you gotta go threw the recruitment of the fire academy which is every 4years is there any other way?

Can't speak for other women in the fire service but I know I ain't tryin to prove nothing to nobody. I am who I am and I do what I love doing. 1 question for all you guys out there with the fragile egos. Why would you think that a woman is trying to be a man for wanting to be a firefighter? Do you think that any man that cooks is trying to be a woman? Traditionally that has always been a womans job you know.
