Not to be negative, but it kind of annoys me that they sound like they really discouraged you from searching. Why is it a problem that you are young? Eastern and SWS (the other agencies aside from Holt) allow adoptees to search at 13 (with adopted parents' permission). You already had to wait until age 18. I kind of wish adoptions would be more open from the beginning. I really hope your search goes well.
Definitely go go go to dinner! I'm also a Korean adoptee and recently became friends with the Korean waitress at a nearby restaurant. One thing I'm beginning to learn is that the Korean community is very kind and helpful if you're curious. She and her husband took me out to lunch and she taught me a lot about Korean culture. If my life were a Korean drama she would probably end up being my mother!
Try to make friends with the Koreans that u had ur car accident with. I think it's a good start to make more connections with ur birth place! In Asian's superstitious perspective, it's kind of fate (unknown attraction arranged by god?!) to have such an accident that people involved are all Koreans....wish u can find ur birth mother soon! ; )
