ManFromKin i have read my history. Peter was crucified upside down as he did not feel worthy to be placed on the cross in the same manner as Jesus Christ. Peter was put to death by Nero around 70 AD. The Church was growing despite this. It was embraced by Constantine in 333AD after he experienced an aparition before going into battle. He had his army place crosses on their armor and battle standards. The individual Churches in cities apart from Rome are still there.
