  • The voice showing on the broadway version is more mature.

  • She's amazing!!!!!!!

  • i couldnt even hear jodi

  • It's genius how they uses rollerskates. I'm serious man. It really suits the flowy atmosphere.

  • @NicoleHalsey13 thats a bit harsh, I think she did well and is a good actress

  • @NicoleHalsey13 Actually Sierra did understand Ariel as a character, in the special features on the special edition of the DVD it has an interview with Sierra and she says right at the beginning that Ariel has always been her favourite disney princess and loved the little mermaid most of all out of all the disney films when she was a child. I like her as Ariel personally.

  • they are both great no one has the same voice

  • amazing. jodi & sierra are both awesome. (: <3333333

  • the beginning of sierras version is a bit strange, especially 0:42 :) but she has a very strong voice. i like both versions

  • you all with the rude comments need to shut up i think she sounds just like her and she can act great belive me i kno im in college im a musical theatre major and and her hairs fine id like to c you get up there on that big stage and perform in front of millions and havet to fill jodis shoes try giving her some support she mite need it

  • ariel's hair was nvr tat wavy even on land or under water

  • @koolkats125 It's a Broadway musical. On stage, everything needs to be rather exaggerated; hair, make-up, clothing, especially in a production like this. Most likely why they styled the wig to be so wavy.

  • If this girl voiced Ariel in the movie, I would have flat out hated the movie. Just saying.

  • @sounderpressure r u serious jodi would have probaly already gave seirra the role for the little mermaid 4

  • Well dang! You can sing! Rock ON!!!

  • I don't like Sierra's acting, Ariel's supposed to be peppery and spicy, I woudl even call her a bit tomboyish, even though she's delicate ande feminine. she's a determined child and her movements say so. she's not like cinderella or Snow White, more like Belle and Mulan.

  • she much better then the movie

  • they are different...the movie version can never be replace..its a classic and in the movie they can make it more dramaic...and they can do it and do it again...until they like it...on broadway..its live..and i don't think she wants to be 100% like the movie..she needs to creat a version that shows who she is...either is great..if u want to hear a bad version of part of your world...try the miley cyrus fast/pop verison...after hearing that u will agree both of these ladies done a great job!!

  • CHHHIIILLLSSSS!!!!

    SOO GOOD!!

  • I think you all need to get over the fact that Jodi originated the animated ariel, not the broadway version. If they wanted Jodi they would of had her. Obviously that wouldn't of worked out. My my people, wake up! :D

  • @Garlandfan94

lol they would've chosen jodi if she wasnt too old for the role...but i do agree, people need to wake up and realize that there is more than one mermaid playing ariel

  • I highly doubt that.

  • I think they both sound beautiful, and of course Jodi is the original, but maybe it's time for a new Ariel :)

  • that tail fin is amazing!!

  • well both sierra and jodi have good their good and bad point but i guess one is always better than the other....it depends on the way u see it...i would prefer jodi though cus she is the one who start this beautiful singing..(is it??i am not sure...)

  • well bottom line is: Jodi was perfect for the movie and Sierra was perfect for Broadway. it doesn't really matter if they could fill each other's place. they did excellently where they were and there is no need to question either.

  • very nicely put! i really appreiciate this. Seeing Sierra on Broadway was amazing, but Jodi made the film... :)

  • well jodi is ok too but she doesnt have to power to sing on a stage like sierra has.sierras voice is so powerful jodis voice is ok too but to soft for stage and i think sierra has a better voice for ariel

  • To be honest,

I like Jodi Benson a lot more

  • I saw her on broadway in december and she was amazing! She portrayed Ariel so well and her singing is just wonderful!

  • wow..shes amazing,I was getting chills the whole time!

  • me too !!

  • goodness. I ALWAYS get chills when she sings "sick of swimming, ready to stand..AND" So powerful

  • shes so good, i love the little mermaid

  • that's pretty cool. what program did you use to edit this together?

  • I saw it last year on broadway

it was an amazing wonderful exciting moment which I will never forget in my whole live

  • coo

  • This is amazing... Is it only on Brodway??

  • te adoro sierra, eres muy hermosa!!!

  • you want thingamabobs? i got 20! lol

  • i love sierra boggess! and i wrote a letter to her and she responded! how nice! i love her so much! GO SIERRA!

  • That is sooo cool! You are really lukcy! She's brilliant!

  • You can write to her too! I would tell you the address, but I don't have it with me right now... lol it's at my house and I'm on vacation!

  • Aww Thanks! :) Have fun on your vacation!!!

Give it to me when you get back! :)

  • she could be jodi benson's daughter! they sound so alike!!!!!

  • Tehe. i like the way she says "gurl"

  • Holy crap, that is pretty darn close to Jodi Benson!

  • ariel isn't singing, its only sierra singing with move clips of ariel

  • i have watched this movie hundreds of times i loved it so much i even watched it in french!i wish i was a mermaid and had a wonderful voice like siera

  • there are many differences with Sierra and Jodi. But Sierra has got an amazing voice... it made me cry

  • Sierra is Ariel!

  • i love her!

  • you think ? I am absolutelly in love with her voice.

  • I think im in love with her voice!

  • she is my all time favorite broadway actress, her and sherie renee scott and idina menzel! Ive seen this a million times and it still gives me chills

  • I think Sierra is fantastic, but does anyone besides me think that Flounder and Sebastian should be nearby watching her, like in the movie?

  • I like it but... They really did ruin a classic. She sounds a little like her.

  • big ass fork lol

  • Big ass voice (in a good way)

I think her voice is so bueatiful, i want to sing like that. i can sing.... but not like that

  • oh mein gott ich bekomme da voll die gänsehaut ist das geil

  • SHE'S GORGEOUS AND SO TALENTED !!

  • Is this the ariel playing in the little mermaid broadway right now??

  • yes, thats her!

  • OMG i like her voice so much. I hope i see her when i see the play in october...........

  • it ends in september......

  • that sucks but why is the show ending?

  • NO WAY!!!!

  • jesus she is FANTASTIC!!

  • Wow she is so look alike Ariel lol Really Really Good :)

  • she is amazing

  • yeah i bet u look better

  • bwhahahahaha ugly bhwhahahahaahahhahhaah bwhahah HABAHAHAHHA UGLY omg.....I can understand taste differs, but saying she would be ugly gives you like ....I dunno, got no words for that lol , very untrue

  • I yhink she's the best singer in the world other than Emma N.

  • is she rollerskating? lol

  • heelys. they are heelys

  • yes the whole play is basically done on skates

  • Really? Ohmygod, that's really cool! It looks amazing ^^

  • Accually, they are the shoes called "Heeleys" its a shoe with a wheel in the heel (if you didnt know)

  • I think she's a great role model and should release an album maybe? She's the kind of woman young girls should admire, instead of the likes of paris hilton!

  • that was beautiful!!! i loved it...sierra is definately a GREAT ariel

  • omg thats soooo amazing! great job!!!

  • How does she sound almost exactly like Jodi? DX

  • she said she used to watch the movie all the time and they made her stop cuz she would do like exactly what she saw in the movie

  • She doesn't really sound like Jodi at all, Sierra sings the song like half an octave higher. Beautiful voices both, but not alike at all. I think Jodi may be a mezzo soprano while Sierra is a soprano, but I'm not sure. I'm music-term-challenged like that.

  • yeah, i think that too. cuase i thought he part was supposed to be lower, but i saw an add for open auditions for the part of ariel and said she must be a soprano, (i knew sierra was a soprano but i thought that she could lower too.)

  • @Deffie They are actually both sopranos, singing in the same frequencies. It's just a matter of differerent timbre, that's why they voices appear to sound different. A mezzosoprano is a much darker voice. There are also different types of sopranos and a more dramatic soprano can sometimes almost sound like a mezzosoprano in her timbre which makes it hard for a unskilled ear to hear the difference.

  • @LETTIS79 I see! But Jodi still sings this song a little lower - if you compare the Broadway and movie versions, you can hear that they are in different keys.

  • @Deffie They're not in different keys at all-- Jodi's as much of a soprano as Sierra is, as LETTIS79 said, they're singing the same notes. They just have different voices, so of course they're going to sound different.

Sierra has the better voice for Broadway: her belt is much stronger, and she knows how to work with an orchestra, not to mention she has to act with her body in addition to her voice. Just a performance difference. ^^

  • @JustPlayWoPo

Actually, it's a different key. I didn't think it was, so I checked.

  • @Deffie But they're in the same key, so she's singing the exact same notes, not half an octave higher. I think what you mean is their voices have different qualities.

  • Great preformance, I love her voice...but seriously, that is a huge fork...I mean dinglehopper! I know they make it so big to the audience can see it on stage, but seriously...

  • ha ha lol I get it!!!

    funnhy!!

  • goosebumps? yes, that's what I got right in the first minute ^^

  • I can't listen to Sierra sing without getting goosebumps. lol She's amazing.

  • what is her costume? I want to see this, but can she move in it at all. Its a tail in the back right? Doesnt that make her legs kind of obvious?

  • Gotta Love Her

  • They really sound the same..... I love Sierra now!!!! I mea...not that I didnt love her before...it was juz tht I didnt knew her before... but it's okay I guess...cause I know her NOW...^^

  • wow what a wonderful voice

  • i no

  • nice vid! Sierra is Ariel!

  • Sierra plays ariel in the play, but she was only seven when the movie came out. (not to be smart allecky)

  • yeh i know

  • I'm already convienced that Sierra IS Ariel

your mix is really great, good job :D

  • omg what would I give to play Ariel on broadway!!

  • I know :) I never could quite understand why Ariel would leave her world behind. But I guess it's just like Sebastian says 'The seaweed is always greener on the other side' :)

  • Oh I know!!!!! I really hope that my school does it next year.

  • I don't know if they've let the rights for LM go yet. You can't do a non-professional production of a show if they haven't let the rights to it go.... or something along those lines. It may be a while before schools and community theaters can do it.

  • really cool video, i like its alot

  • supertoll gemacht hasi ^.^

    passt echt megaschön zusammen. *___*

da sieht man voll gut, was für ne tolle arielle sierra is =)
