I liked both this show and Chamber, they were unique concepts and really exciting, at the very leas you gotta admit they're way better then raw sewage like Deal Or No Deal, how that horrible show lasted for 4 years I will never know.
@darkrage6 So you're saying you would not be interested in a 1 in 26 chance at a million dollars with almost no skill necessary. It's not entertaining, but it'd still be nice to be on the show.
@DerAlmighty I'm not saying that, i'd jump at the chance to win a million dollars, but DOND is a show that seems alot more fun to play then it is to watch. The show wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the truly INSANE amount of filler.
75 bpm for a guy at resting??? he must never work out. his heart is all over the place, skipping around and whatnot. yikes! best to be in good condition before going on this show.
What crap! He wasn't allowed to answer until he got his heart rate under control. Great way for the network to make big money but not having to actually pay out anything to the contestants.
This show is an epic fail. Seriously, these contestants are not public speakers who are used to being put on the spot. The average person is going to be nervous if they're in front of a TV camera for the very first time. This concept would not survive in the long term because the majority contestants would end up not being permitted to answer the question on account of elevated heart rates. The host baiting the contestants on is also self-defeating as well.
@jstephenj Plus knowing that you're heart rate is too high and you're losing money is pretty stressful (like taking a test and running out of time) and could cause your heart rate to go even higher.
I remember watching this all the time with my family. But i felt like i was the only one who knew it existed. I've asked friends but... haha i think im one of the few who watched this.
I loved this show.... it was so short lived..... and the chamber tried to beat it....... that show was fuking brutal....... this show was alot better.
Lol! His heart rate goes above 120 immediately after he's told it can't go above that. This guy sounded like such a tool when he was talking about himself. I'm glad he failed!
Notice that the moment the question came on... redlining penalties could start right there. I think in later episodes, redlining couldn't happen until John declared "You may (not) answer the question"
I missed this show when I abruptly saw it go off the airwaves in 02'. Thanks for the posting and bring back some great memories. Almost every other video is something else I remember from shows remembered and lost...
This is a pretty good and innovative game. So many times on a game show we can get to nervous for our own good; this show is all about nerves as well as knowledge and being able to stay calm under pressure. This contestant may have had to knowledge but didn't have the nerves since his resting heart rae was set low I wold imagine he doesn't get nervous a lot in real life. hen the pressure is getting to you things can happen that just affect your mind. I give the show 4 stars and the player, 3.
If I remember right only one person actually made it to the end of the game, and another lost it all on the first question. This was a TOUGH game just being up there would be nerve racking enough not to mention trying to keep yourself under control.
*gasp* I know what you're talking about! Oh GOD that show was bad. I don't know what FOX was thinking...it was called The Chamber, right? Gosh, I remember the first show and they had all sorts of problems, including the headphones falling out of the contestant's ears cause they were held in with what I can only remember as either masking, medical, or scotch tape.
@Giok8 If you're asking about The Chamber, it was rushed to air to try and beat The Chair. It was more brutal than this, putting contestants in a small Chamber with hot temperatures and fire and chair rotation, or cold with ice water splashing against them while answering questions. It was just terrible.
I recently just captured the episode for a trade, so I might post the full episode of it, but I'm just trying to decide on that right now.
Looks hard. My heart would be so crazy up there just knowing that cameras are on me.

@jstephenj Yeah, that's why some people actually won the whole game out of 13 players.

Actually I stand corrected. Acording the wiki article three people actually made it to the last question, but I won't spoil the results.

I'll be posting more "Chair" in the future, and maybe your memory will get boosted to help you recall those moments.
Sometimes, it's easy to control your heart if you aren't too nervous.

Wow...good thing I never watched this show, this is kinda freaking me out O_O
Wolfman12395 3 years ago
Well, I was adjusted to this show since I am a heart patient, and I would never have gone on anyway because of that.
But, I know of a WORSE show that competed against The Chair, and let me tell you...it was AWFUL!

Scotch tape, I think it was.
I only have the finale of The Chamber, and I know it was not as good as The Chair.
mtiller2006 3 years ago
Watching this made my heart rate rise along with the show. Measuring it by myself makes it go up, strangely enough. XD
But, it is a great one, Mike. Keep doin' your job, and perhaps the Game Show Temple will gain more popularity. ^^
(Dang... my heart's still thumpin' after the video was finished...)
