Reishi, Tulsi, ashwaganda, Gotu Kola are a few of these I know of, I might add one or two to my diet daily and see what it can do. I know about the high immune system situation already, good of you to point that out. Most people think just overdo something that boosts your immune system and you will be well, not always the case. Adaptogenic herbs are the best I am aware of, what are more you recommend?
I am taking Rasayanas for vata type and I adsolutly love it, My skin is glowing, and so is my hair and I feel overall happy and in balance, but I was unsure about adding Shilajit to my list. The shilajit I bought is was delivery directly from India, manufactured by morpheme..what do you think about that?
@pilaroka I am not familiar with the company or their product so I can't really comment on it. The darker and closer to black the shilajit is, the better.
@pilaroka Absolutely, it's one of the Rasayana "herbs" from the Ayurvedic tradition. Rasayana is the equivalent of a "tonic" herb (as they call it in Chinese herbalism) which means that it's an adaptogen that can be taken for long periods of time at even high doses.
If you were to eat that much garlic over a period of time, your body would either begin to become used to the garlic and it's medicinal properties would stop working, or it would bump your immune system too high and caused problems if you happen to have any underlying autoimmune conditions (where the immune system attacks your own body).
They're about 26% complete protein (dry), so they're a great food (high in lysine which makes them great to eat if you eat nuts which tend to be low in this). They are also a source of vitamin D if they were exposed to sunlight (even small amounts) and a wide variety of minerals.
Letinan is a polysaccharides found in the mushroom (among others) that has been studied a lot for it's anti tumour properties. How it does this is it actually improves the immune system, much like reishi and others.
I am making a tonic with pau d' arco, cats claw, chaga & rehmannia root. Ive been taking it for 3 months, without any noticable change. Should I take a break from it for awhile. Am treating candida and leukemia.
Rotating herbs can be helpful, but not necessary. Taking adaptogenic herbs is part of a complete lifestyle change to get the most benefit from them. Exercise moves the blood which carries their properties to all the tissues. Eating properly is #1 before herbs as well.
What I can say from the limited amount that I know you is that if there is any sugar whatsoever (fruit, processed, honey, agave, carrot or beet JUICE, etc) you'll only feed those conditions.

You have to boil mushrooms to get rid of their cancerious qualities
studentoflife01 2 years ago
If you mean carcinogenic, this is because of a mold that grows on them in grocery stores. If you're buying them elsewhere it's no a problem.
SecretsOfLongevity 2 years ago
Oh... and boiling them doesn't eliminate the carcinogens caused by these molds!

mutagens, that's what I was thinking of. Look it up, David Wolfe said so.

It's best to work with a practitioner.
