  • Trouble with a Capitol T which rhymes with p which stands for pool

  • Haha. i will be trying out for this musical next week.. sooo nervous!

  • Ha ha. I love this song. They still do this con to this day: rock music, horror movies, vidya games. It works EVERY time.

  • I just auditioned for this musical...

  • My favorite musical is The Music Man. I have watched this many times, and enjoyed it every time. It's just a pleasure! This version, too is waaay better than the Disney remake a few years ago. I saw this the first time in a preview at the Crown Theater in Pasadena, CA. Nobody knew what to expect. When the snare drum riff started there was a reaction in the audience. When Meredith Willson's name flashed on the screen the people cheered. They clapped after every scene, as if the actors could hear.

  • @Largo64 That preview was shown about six months before the movie was released. I never saw a movie audience react like that to a film before, or since. I can't imagine a better cast. Certainly the Disney version was not even close.

  • Sounds like every talking head on Fox News to me.

  • my church is doing a production of MM. I am in it. i am playing the train conductor and i am the guy that takes the comic book out of the kid's back pocket and i am in the chorus

  • He assesses the customer’s current state.

    He defines the problem.

    He defines the solution.

He appeals to the buyer’s emotions.

    He believes in his product.

    The perfect pitch! :)

  • A perfect example of the slippery slope fallacy.

  • Nannies are selling the smoking ban the very same way that Prof Hill sold the band uniforms!

  • THITH PLAY ITH THO COOL ( talking like winthrop with a lithp).

  • I have nothing but love for the fat that there are no dislikes for this video.

  • no dislikes... FUCK YES!!

  • Sheer talent and GENIUS at work. None better. Robert Preston was born to play this role!!!!!!

  • There are way to many real life Music Men in this world. Leading people off like the Pied Piper.

  • Man, he could have sold anything. What a great clip.

  • My school did this musical...I was a "Pick-A-Little-Lady."

  • I'm doing the music man Jr at my local theater and I would have to say this is one of my FAVORITE songs to sing. :DD

  • omylord im trying to memorize this song AND sing not easy. how did this man do it!

  • My favorite movie of all time. I grew up watching this... over and over and over and.....lol

  • If he were in drag, I'd think it was Glenn Beck....

  • Hmmm.

I'm reminded of some talk radio and TV "news" people.

I'll bet they all know this song by heart.

Anyway, this has to be one of the very best musicals ever made, and Robert Preston really nailed Professor Hill!

  • A classic in charlatanism.

  • this is genius!!!

  • its Obama ! we got trouble down there on wall st!

  • LOL ...got caught drinking TEA, eh, @ginaswo

  • @ginaswo preach it brother

  • we are preforming this musical at my school

  • MONORAAAAAIL !! MONORAAAIL!!

  • This is where the motivation for Marge vs. The Monorail came from. One of the wrtiers of the Simpsons, Conan O'Brian, was a big The Music Man fan.

  • just change the words too this and this is Glenn Beck we got trouble in the usa those liberals we got trouble trouble trouble

  • @howdoiquityou2006 You mean Obama. "We got trouble, right here in the constitution, with a capital T and that rhymes with C and that stands for Change."

  • @fjccommish No, Obama was trying to save your country, but too many uneducated fools believed the lies. And now you are basically screwed. Of course its also basically evolution. The stupid don't survive.

  • @lamtsite Obama was trying to destroy the country. You're right that the stupid don't survive. That's why Democrats lost the house, and why Obama's window to forward his radical agenda is now closed.

  • @lamtsite I am interested in your explaination of how the "o" was saving our country?? B ecause I just don't see it either.

  • @lamtsite sounds like the kind of condescending haughty twat public payroll twits that put Obama in the White House in the first place.

In the worst financial calamity in the history of the Nation since the Great Depression, Obama has a cabinet that has the least experience in business since the founding of the Republic.

  • great song ...too bad meredith wilson didn't do more things like this...

  • old school hip hop

  • what's sos your old man?

  • iwishiwasdancing - So's your old man basically is a way of saying you suck - you and your whole family suck. Or in other words - you are a jerk and so's your old man. Them's fightin' words LOL

    PLZ B patient....♥♥♥

  • This blows everything away!

  • a capital t?

  • So much better than my play.

  • What a great clip! My favorite song from one of America's classic musicals! Prof. Harold Hill was the role the late great Robert Preston was BORN to play. I'm so glad they let him repeat his Broadway role in the 1962 movie version from Warner Bros. Smart move on their part...that's for sure! Thanks for sharing this great clip with us!

  • Thanks for the posting one of the best musical numbers ever written.

  • Hmmm....Global warming - band uniforms, global warming - band uniforms......NOW I GET IT! Thank you Professor Al Gore for warning us about the caliber of disaster that's about to happen.......you ignoramous.

  • brilliant comment!

  • 2 THUMBS WAY UP..LOL

  • Clever analogy in the description there. :) I'm writing a piece on the propaganda techniques Harold Hill uses in this song, and flag-waving and scare tactics are certainly among them.

  • Personaly, I love this scene for the display of general gulibility of people. The Harold Hills throughout history have done a lot. Organized religion is one that comes to mind.

  • the music man show is legendary ...

  • Too funny. I'm sure in some one horse towns

    This much of a stretch!
