  • great video dude thanks for the help

  • DO MASTERS APPRENTICE ON A REAL SITAR MIKAEL AKERFELDT!!!

  • @1787dude word, send me a sitar and I'll do it :D

  • @leskop lmao

  • You sound like Brad Pitt my friend. Great tutorial Mr. Pitt.

  • Amazing lesson, learned more from you in six minutes, than I did reading on the net. If you haven't heard "East-West" by The Butterfield Blues Band, you should really check that track! Indian influenced, though I don't think that they tuned the way you does, but an amazing song anyways. Makes no sense though how Mike's playing it. Anyways, thanks for the lesson!

  • i dont know how to tune the b and d sting to f# help me please

  • @MoGamesHD The b string and d string don't get tuned to f#. The G string is the first one that gets tuned to F#, and to do so compare it to the 2nd fret of the high E string. To tune the A string down to F#, tune it to the other F# string (G string) until it's an octave lower than it.

  • for the melody i mean?

  • @DLJR33P - I actually studied many different traditional indian ragas at one point in my youth and even had a restaurant gig playing "sitar guitar" at one point. There are certain sort of "themes" that involve certain scales and time signatures, with certain accidentals and key riffs. Melody is everything, and when it comes down to it, if it sounds good, it is good. Just look up some ravi shankar for a good example of sitar mastery

  • would the hungarian minor scale be best to play in?? for the sitar sound??

  • my father uses a similar tuning but he actually uses for folk music (something similar to the british one)

  • What kind of chord do you tune in?

  • @Jurgen5586 - As explained at the beginning of the video, the tuning from high to low is E, B, F#, B, F#, B

  • @leskop Okay. Are there other tuning that sounds good aswell?

  • @Jurgen5586 - I'm sure there are, but for doing sitar on guitar this is my "go-to" tuning so to speak

  • I'll try to add to this distortion XD

  • @Zerosaiko666 - auto phaser or auto wah would probably sound pretty sweet

  • Just what I've been looking for!

Unfortunately I dont think i can get a sitar but maybe one I will!

    Until then this will suffice!

    Btw your so cute!

  • Are you from opeth ? i adore your hair !

  • @Dimeshit666 No, I'm not Mikael Åkerfeldt, although people have told me I look like him before :D

  • @leskop i have just cut my hair one or two months ago , i will have the same haircut in probably one year :(

  • thank you... i realy liked how you showed to tune it as well... i own a sitar and they almost sownd identical

  • Sick!

  • Sick!

  • Pretty cool man.

  • it's awesome...It'll help me a lot in my experimental music....thanks a lot for uploading this vid....

  • Cool vid and nice technique, but it still sounds a lot like a guitar... You should try the spoon too and with that playing style it'll probably sound really similar!

    Nice vid!

  • @themetalkenny yea! I tried to look for a spoon that would fit under the bridge on my guitar but none of the ones I have are the right size :-P

  • @themetalkenny Damn! hehehe

  • That's fantastic man, I may try that later.

    5 stars!

  • 1. thanks man, vid was so helpful.
