My 2 year old son is Autisitc.. we have started early teaching him how to do everyday things we do not shelter him from everyday activites out of fear of a meltdown.. We go shopping everyday.. its a learning adventure!
Does he know that he is different? I've always thought so, I mean, I know a lot of people who would treat a child with autism like a not smart kind of animal. But they must know they are not like others, right?
I think autism parents are the greatest. We have one in our group home. The boy's mom is the best, and she looks out for him all the time. Dunno how she does it. But yeah. Gotta love the boy.
So, he does not have Aspergers? What ASD does he have, and what kind of therapy has he had? (I have a kid sister who has Aspergers, she's developed dramatically over the past several years with Occupational therapy)
I thought the outing looked great. Thanks for posting the real thing. Good job coaching too. I don't know that it actually matters but I was wondering if there had ever been a diagnosis of Angelman's Syndrome?
My heart goes out to all you parents dealing with this condition. All of you should find yourselves good therapists and use all of your workplace coverage.
Thank you so much for posting this video. I am glad to see someone going through the same things that we do. It's tough but it's priceless. Great job Dad! I hope this will inspire more Dads to take part. I know I am blessed to have a husband who is 100% alongside despite the challenges of being in the military.
hes so calm in the store! my son who is 2 " also autistic"has tantrums in the stores i never thought there would be ways around this issue, thank you for sharing!!!
God, I do not know how you do it. I have to be honest with myself and say I know I would not be able to do it. This is why God only gives autistic children to special people. He knows I would cut and run. I am ashamed to admit it but patience is something I do not have much of. I would not be able to raise that child. You are a wonderful man and your family is very lucky to have you!!
We have the behavioral therapist help us similarly once a month. I see a lot of the same reactions w our child. It's definitely less stressful w 3rd party support. LOL at the crushed pretzel bags cute. Great support and dedicated parent.
Thanks @chetlehuang and @jab2004jrb2007! Noah's dad is an inspiration to me too. His patience and perseverance are amazing to watch...it takes time, but change is possible. Keep up your great work and thanks for watching.
what an amazing family! as much as it is challenging to have a child with autism, the dad is amazing and very supportive. noah is wonderful. as a mother, though, seeing the father interact with his son like noah's father is doing is an inspiration for me to keep on going. it is so hard...
What a beautiful young man! Beautiful eyes, just like my little man. Thanks for posting such a useful video to show others how even little tasks are so challenging to our kids with autism and how important it is for them to master them. With help and patience, they can!

That dad sure is something. It takes a real special person to take care of a child that requires extra attention ( and to have patience!)

I trying not to sound like a jerk here but what is missing in a autistic childs brain is something like not all the way developed or something
TLmysteryman123 1 month ago
@TLmysteryman123 Well, they don't really know what causes autism, but it is neurologically based.
