  • Denise Keene was a talented 60s singer for sure Amen.

  • , yeauh, unfortunately, we will never know that if her voice is great since they doubled the vocals. Crap

  • 6 o clock rock was on the ABC from 60 to mid 61. He went to channel 7-it was called the Johnny O Keefe show, but he had a car accident and a breakdown and that nice clean folk singer bloke with the hush puppies and the corduroy dacks,Lionel long took over!JOK< came back as compere-they called it Sing, sing, sing.this is from that show.

  • What a beautiful girl.

  • Much better Denise Keene version than that poor effort from Lesley Gore.

  • @BALLADS1 F--kin critic, why would you say 'than that poor effort from Lesley Gore?

  • @mikestheman3 I

Personally I detest arrogant retards on YT who use bad language play loud rock/metal/

punk/rap cr-app noises and are full of crim drugs/intoxicated does that sound familiar

Mike you juvenile studenty type fu cc k degenerate !! Lesley Gore sounded like my cat.

  • Check out Rod Dunbar and Denise in the song that was filmed directly before this song... it tells a story...

    nice..

  • Without this song we would have been poorer in our growing up age.

    Superb tune and lyrics!!!

Leslie, sure gave a chance to others to interprete their own way.

  • Phoooor !!!!!

  • I fear Leslie Gore version is so much better.

  • Horn Bag of her days and a bloody great voice

  • She does a good job with this.

  • Are any other videos availble of Denise? Does anyone have any other information on her life and career?

  • Don't think this is from "Bandstand" as Johnny O'Keefe , not Brian Henderson, does the introduction. Most likely from "Sing Sing Sing" which was on the "Australian Television Network" which was the fancy name for Channel 7 in the 1960's."Bandstand" was on Channel 9.

This clip would have been from 1963-64 when Lesley Gore sang the original version.

  • Denise looks nice and sings well.. I'm surprised she is no longer performing. Great talent!!

  • I've got one of her records somewhere.. On WG i think?

Isn't it funny youtube has brought bits of Denise's life togather. Haha love it :]

  • Hi Paris, your mother is quite a legend here in the UK.

She once recorded with the Judy Bailey Quartet on the album, "Colours" in 1976. Denise was featured on the track, "Colours Of My Dream", and her contribution was outstanding, for her vocals were so beautiful.

This track became a huge track in London Jazz Dance clubs, and as a dj, I continue to play it to the dancers, as it always gets such a great response.

Please send your mother my fullest respect for her magical voice.
