One Brony to another... I recommend a great program called Famitracker. It maybe harder to use than GXSCC or any other Midi replacement tool but let me tell you, when you use the instruments and program the keys, I swear that you'd probably think that you left your NES running.

What? Who told you that? That's totally untrue, play some early 90's late 80's arcade games and you will find 8 bit music with drums, basslines, leads, and more.

8 bit can have lots of tracks, each sample just has to be recorded at 8 bits. That's all 8 bit is.

@iHate37 The bits refer to the "resolution" of the sound, not the number of tracks. Ok, back when 8bit was state of the art they maybe couldn't use more than 2 tracks either, but strictly speaking "8bit" has nothing to do with the number of tacks.
