As far as free-to-play, RuneScape is awsome.

In the f2p worlds, members don't get the benefits of using the p2p weapons/armor/prayers/spells.

Also, the minigames are cool(not gay ass puzzles).

And the members is even better. You don't have to buy "coins" or "tokens."

And PvP is nice, but risky.

Runescape is just continous GRINDING AND GRINDING. There is no plot whatsoever, no point, it's just a time waster. I still play it though, Most MMO's are continous grinding, but I guess it's hard to make a plot with MMO's, as they're too many people playing it. While magic duels, everyone changes the game, it may seem boring to text-based game players, but it is fun enough.

I'll agree with a few comments below, rs is the best JAVA game. I know people who play RS at the age of 28, down to 12.
