In the late 80's I was a pub manager for Bass M&B. I managed a nasty pub on a rough council estate( Chelmsley Wood ) on the outskirts of B,ham & Coventry, which was known for drugs and trouble The Juke Box had this song on it, and much to my surprise it was by far the most played song.

I have seen middle aged ex cons who would stick a knife in you as look at you,with tears in their eyes while this was playing. when I moved on to other pubs I had it also put on Jb's & again was the most played.
