  • YOU'RE GOOODD! NICE CANTER SEAT!

  • you cantered on your first lesson ???!!!! I learnt to canter after 6 months of riding !!

  • @HorseCrazy4299 haha well i'd already been riding for a while so i had cantered before, just not properly on the right lead like she was trying to teach me :P

  • @HorseCrazy4299 Took me about..a year.

  • Wow your really good for a beginner! I only got to canter on my second lesson because the horse bolted in canter with me and my instructor said I handled it well so I could try it again so haha. :D But yeah you do really well :)

  • @stardustmypony hahah well that would have been quite a shock for you xD this guy turned out to be a bolter, which unfortunately meant i had to give him up :/

  • @shekiahxx yeah it was ;) and aww that sucks :(

  • @stardustmypony haha just realised that i replied on the wrong account, sorry about that xD

  • @shekiahxx its fine :D

  • not bad not bad at all!

  • ur a great rider for ur first time :O hahahha i was jumping in my first lesson nd during thw whole hour i fell off offf at least 7 times :P :S hahha but just one tip....... when ur riding keep ur hands up off the horses withers :P nd ull be even better :P not tht ur not good now haha :P x x

  • lol what was with the whole drawing in the sand thing? lol you are an awesome rider!

  • @Boruness hahah she was trying to show me about canter leads (ive completely forgotten now)

you think so?? i cringe every time i watch this video haha

  • @myboytex haha yeah, your better than me and ive been taking lessons for 8 months, cant even canter yet =/

  • Ofcourse i do! I mean like yahh! haha

  • For the head position being so high you could try a DeGogue, it's a training aid to help them keep their head down. My instructor used to have me use one on the horse I rode. Some advanced riders know how to move the reins in a way to get them to hold their head, I don't know about you but I personally don't know how to do that. =P

  • Oh ok.. Yeah, I would rather not have to resort to using devices to deal with it :/

The head thing I think you're talking about is getting them "on the bit" ? I think it's like.. where you ask them to soften and collect themselves, maintaining firm-but-giving contact with the bit.. I think that's kind of what they do, haha

Thanks for your input though, much appreciated! :)

  • your amazing and the horse is lovely! that was really good!!!!!!!

  • Thank you! He is lovely, I'll be sad to see him go :(

  • with a few more lessons! You'll get it! (Sorry for all the comments) :P

  • Thank you so much for all your kind words :)

I haven't had many lessons after this one, and I feel like I've almost gone as far as I can without them..

It does feel good to have gotten where I am by myself though.. despite the fact that some things were learned the hard way xD

  • No Problem at All!

Yes, Ive taught myself alot of things, like.. when i was little i never learnt how to do alot of things. But i taught myself! i taught myself how to fall off aswell. :P but from those few falls i learnt how to stay on and trust me! every fall is worth a great seat in a buck or a great hang on from a bolt.. :P Good Luck!

  • I mean, i did lots of stuff during my little years of riding, like a helping around with vets, riding around on trails, jumping! so much! im 14 in a few days and might i say. Its wonderful how much people learn on their own. Again, well done!

  • You've done well!. I only had a couple if riding lessons when i was little, little.. and then rode a few horses around. I even managed to jump 80cm! as my first actual jump, then our horse passed away and i did'nt ride for about 3 years with only the occasional trail ride. Once back in the saddle. Im on my way! I think you were brilliant, and about the head carriage. Dont worry. You dont need to look fancy or have his head down nice as long as he is looking well and working well for you. x

  • cool u r good!

  • You think so??

  • Young Lady, you are a natural at horseback riding.

  • Aw, thank you :)

I was a bit worried I'd be getting comments like "don't ever ride again!" .. some people have no concern for the impact of their rudeness.

Thanks again, and sorry for the late response!
