@drimple21 I haven't seen these sound readings, but it was widely held that St Andrews was the most hostile and intimidating stadium in the Prem from 2002-2004. Our fans were just so damn hungry, and so happy to be there. The night games especially were just evil. Every game was like a cup final. Countless fans of other teams have confirmed this to me. And the same fans are now shaking their head at how it all went away so quickly. I wish I had an answer.
@drimple21 You're right, the support at Stoke was embarrassing. Up until the win against Chelsea, there was just a bad feeling around the club. Under McLeish we've played horrifically boring football. And when it doesn't even translate to points I guess a lot of the fans choose not to bother. We also have to deal w/ the fact that our fanbase is almost exclusively working class; many of them worked at the Rover factory which got shut down and are struggling to make ends meet.

I was at this game as a Rovers season ticket holder and have been to the Britannia on an away day and they are definitely one of the loudest sets of supporters I have ever heard, even though there was 5,000 and United and Liverpool bring over 7,000.

@safclegend92 To be fair there are reasons for that in 2009/10 it was a monday night game so there's no going to be many going up north, and this season just gone it was in the grip of the snow, so again reduced numbers.

@drimple21 I haven't seen these sound readings, but it was widely held that St Andrews was the most hostile and intimidating stadium in the Prem from 2002-2004. Our fans were just so damn hungry, and so happy to be there. The night games especially were just evil. Every game was like a cup final. Countless fans of other teams have confirmed this to me. And the same fans are now shaking their head at how it all went away so quickly. I wish I had an answer.

@drimple21 You're right, the support at Stoke was embarrassing. Up until the win against Chelsea, there was just a bad feeling around the club. Under McLeish we've played horrifically boring football. And when it doesn't even translate to points I guess a lot of the fans choose not to bother. We also have to deal w/ the fact that our fanbase is almost exclusively working class; many of them worked at the Rover factory which got shut down and are struggling to make ends meet.
