Haha! Your wrong. Todays day they always use ILS, because an example, you have to fly a GORLO 2V departure (schiphol to heatrow) and for example in heatrow for the arrival, WOBUN 2G arrival, you HAVE to fly that traffic pattern, and they use the FMC for it.

On these I Ianded VFR, Visual Flight Rules, I hadn't been flying on FS for long then. Nowadays I do both but sometimes my approach A/P goes crazy trying to line up so I just land manually too.

ahhh gotcha. well nicely done!! quick question, is the ILS supposed to just get you out of the clouds and in sight of the runway so you can land manually/visually, or is it supposed to guide you all the way in? i know airlines can use autoland, but im talking cessna's and pipers (SEPs and MEPs). im guessing since "minimums" exist, it would be to get you in sight so you can do the rest. thanks a ton

I'm not sure about FS to be honest, I'm sure in real life it can guide you all the way in and flare the aircraft itself but on flight sim you'd usually use ILS to line up and have a decent approach and descent and then disengage the A/P at around 300 feet and flare yourself! @ncn8ochaser There are categories of aircraft. The categories are A, B, C, and sometimes D if the airport can support it. Category A is for aircraft that land slower than 90 knots, so a Cessna. Then it depends from the airport. It depends what category of the ILS does it support. Lets take Stansted airport, EGSS. It can support Category II landing. So the minimums are there but do not allow for complete autoland, because its not Cat III C.

You touchdown way too early, you're meant to touchdown on the 2 white boxes. Also, try to not bank so much on the first crosswind landing, you could use some more rudder I guess... Try a higher flare as well to not make the touchdown too hard. On my first attempts I was the same but practice really does make perfect!

There are 3 ways to brake on a landing: reverse thrust (hold down F2), spoilers (/) and differential braking (.)

good flaring! wonderful videos! just one small thing, about 1:20 through the video, there is a clip of an BAW A320 landing. was good, but you came in tad low. but i was AMAZED by the A380 landing! simply terrefic!

thanks alot...the BA landing at 1.20 still made the touchdown zone :P hehe. To be honest, I wasn't pleased with the A380 landing and it took me 4 attemps just to get that. I'm sure I can land the A380 better. Also, thanks for subscribing!
