I think that you're being hypocritical because, In order to have Liberty there has to be quidelines to preserve the Liberty of others. I believe that for a crime to take place there must be victim. Any social or commercial interaction people have which they willingly engage in and neither party is physically harmed or defrauded ought to be unmolested by the state. San Francisco many allow homosexuals more freedom to interact but there are thousands more laws interfering with commercial interactions there than in Tennessee. As for regulating Culture, that sounds less like Liberty and more like the Kulturkampf.

Hey, I'm shopping for recordings of Don Giovanni and Der Ring des Nibelungen. With Don Giovanni I'm torn between getting the 1960 Carlo Maria Giulini recording or the 2007 Rene Jacobs recording. As for the Ring, I'm torn between the Georg Solti cycle and the Herbert von Karajan cycle. What are your thoughts? Which do you prefer?

As a non-White person, it sometimes amazes me that these tolerant cultural liberals don't get meanings. Tolerance does not mean acceptance. Don Kennedy can talk about not having homosexuality in the South and still talk about liberty because one is an undesirable cultural trait and the other is political. Then the real question to ask them next time is do they envision some kind of theocratic state or must there be a dedicated principle of non-establishment of religion.

Great coverage of the convention, and I have to agree with your summation. It's a shame that such a wonderful idea as secession is almost entirely in the hands of people who would use it to turn back freedom, liberty, and democracy even more than our current federal government has. Glad you thought the California guy wasn't a kook. I'll be in touch with them to find out more.
