My moms old Rabbit died on June 2008 I told her to take to her Vet but she didn't listen. She got a new rabbit in 2009 and named her "Fluffy" She is now almost 3 years old this year and I remind my mom if there is anything wrong with the rabbit she MUST go and see the vet.
Reminds me of my adorable pet bunny.. She followed me wherever I went, jumped all over the place and licked my hands while I was petting her.. The day she was dying, she waited for me to give my last exam and when I returned home, she licked my hand one more time and died on my hands.. My beloved Zena I will never ever forget you ; ((
MY rabbit died too in 2010 in january 7 i hated my life after , he was 10 , i got him in november 2000 . he was very tame and always stiing next to me . i can always cherish the movies i made of him
My little baby use to do that all the time when I let her out of her cage when I got home from school. Then she'll be all poop out, come to me and cuddle for a half hour on my chest, before doing it all over again. I loved her so much!!!
aww so adorable :') my bunny does this all the time, runs about and jumps all over the place, but he lives in the garden, when we first got him he was a house bunny but he chew to many things and mum wasn't happy lol the cute little thing is obviously camera shy when he/she hides behind ur legs awww xx
So cute... =) I remember my rabbits, mine was an American Chinchilla.. They are this crazy too sometimes.. And my rabbits love the smell of coffee.. When they smell coffee they'll come running to me..
@zosma2010 Guess not or you dont know what their bite means. I have a Holland lop and she only bites when she has too much energy and wants to be put down so she can run around or when you hold her wrong. Shes also still a baby, shes 4 months old, so she will hopefully grow out of it
I am so sorry for your loss, I lost a rabbit two yrs ago and I understand how much it hurts. They r part of the family. I still have my other bunny who is 6 now and we love him so much. Your bunny was extremely happy and loved. You are great pet owners and you gave him a wonderful life.
I'm sorry about your loss. I watched a few of your videos and he was obviously very happy and very loved. That's really all we can hope for in our pet's lives. I lost my dog in September 2010 so I know how hard it is. You seem like an amazing owner and I'm sure Pancake knew how much you love him. If he could see you now, he would want you to be happy and living your life as normally as possible. Even from watching just a few videos, I have no doubt that he lived a happy, loving life.
I am so sorry for your loss, I can tell by the way Pancake is running around and playing that he was a happy bunny and loved you very much! I have had 7 bunnies and I know their medical needs well, some illnesses they commonly get are very hard to see. Stasis is common, but can be cured by giving them a big handful of fresh grass hay three times a day. Other diseases are harder to deal with, and require a vet that REALLY knows bunnies, because most vets only take one class in vet school.
@RHIN0KITTY Thanks for your kind words. He sure was a happy bunny and this was very unexpected. I'm just glad he didn't have to suffer too long. One time Pancake felt ill and wasn't eating. The vet said he didn't seem to have anything wrong and that if he wasn't well the next day I should bring him back. I told him it's fatal for bunnies not to eat a for a whole day! He called a specialist who in fact agreed with me and told the vet to put him on medication immediately.
@alicet88 Hi, he's definatly a mix. If he were a pure french lops he would be a lot bigger and his ears would be much larger and lopped completely. either way he's very cute :)
@3333sweetie my bun follows me around. like not stuck to me.. just that.. if i go upstairs, most of the time she will go up too, and sit close to me (in the same room). and then i go downstairs, and she follows me down and stays near me (ie. in the same room, or where she can see me). she's very cute like that!
@xXxraND0mxXx1 Yeah, that about right. They run very fast and can turn on a dime. Catching them can take awhile, cause when their out they want to stay out.
That's terrible to hear that you lost him. He's just too sweet. Keeping a rabbit healthy, even when you give them the best life possible is very difficult. I'm so sad right now. I almost lost my Pancake a few days ago due to respiratory problems. He was in ICU for two days, and being in the oxygen tank along with 24 hour vet care saved his life. We're so lucky. You are a great rabbit owner, so I hope you provide a happy home to another rabbit someday.
@heidianddaisy Thank you for your support. It was a very hard thing to deal with. He was hiding his sickness, still hopping around silly. I realized he had crumpleds on his nose. I thought it was a cold. He's had no problem recovering that. I figured if he showed signs of weakness the next day (I also had to wait upon my brother for a lift) then I'd bring him to the vet. But the following day he stopped moving. It was already too late :(
I won't get another till I can be 150% there for him/her.
@alicet88 I understand having guilt. Even though we do everything we can, we still have guilt when one of our precious pets die. I lost my Californian rabbit Pete in June and then two days later I lost his companion, Geneva, who was a little lionhead. Even the vets couldn't figure out what was wrong. They suspected a toxin or poison, but we couldn't find anything they could have gotten into. Due to the circumstances I had unbearable guilt. I was full blown depressed for a month.
@alicet88 And, I still cry sometimes. What we have to focus on is that most rabbits never get a good home, never have a reason to binky, never get time out of a cage. It's a sad fact. So I say if we can give a rabbit a happy home for a year or more and they die from something, we've given them a happier life than if they lived somewhere else in a cage for 8 years. You are too good of a rabbit parent to be wasted. You should rescue a rabbit, because he would be in better hands with you.
When a rabbit binky's, which is what he is doing when he runs, bucks, and twists that means he is in complete bliss:) You have a happy bunny on your hands. Is he a rex? I have a rabbit named Pancake, and he looks just like this one, but black and white. He is a rex.

@psychoguy1017 I'm sorry, I ca't answer to that. The only time Pancake's ever bit me was while he was trying to get banana off my fingers, so it was more like a nibble. Bunnies don't really bite though unless they feel threatened in their territory (cage). That's about all I can say. Good luck!
@alicet88 R.I.P. Pancake. He will be missed. Death is a terrible thing, it's sad to know that your best friend has passed. And I'm 200% sure that you would be there for your next bunny. May he rest in peace and I honestly hope his death was quick.
@taquitos45 Thank you for your warm thoughts. Fortunately he did die very quickly. That was the one thing I was glad about, that he didn't suffer too long. I won't be getting another one any time soon though...
@alicet88 No problem, and I'm very happy to hear that he didn't suffer. I also hope you didn't suffer too long due to his death :/. I'm sorry for your loss.
@psychoguy1017 i have a rabbit when they bite u it dosnt hurt tht much the only pain u feel is more as the shockthat u got biten mine bites me once every couple weeks 9 times outa 10 cuz she female round her time of month ussaly but they dont hurt that much not much to worry bout ether ussualy theyh aint that deep ive only had one deep one nothing that a small plaster cant fix though
@psychoguy1017 rabbits rarely bite tbh, but my ones a lttle bitch, it always digs but i accept that since yeh it is a rabbit, but i put my foot near there and it tries to hit me with its paws, funny but annoying :@
You're probably getting a lot of responses to this...but usually rabbits don't bite unless they are threatened, or think your finger is food for a moment. But also, if you have a rabbit that isn't fixed, they may or may not give you a "love bite" My rabbit has given me a few of these and they hurt, but they aren't enough to break the skin. They did leave a little bruise on my leg though. When he did, I would make a high pitched yelp, and he has since stopped doing this.
@psychoguy1017 The best thing to do would be to adopt a neutered bun from a rescue centre. Neutered rabbits are far less likely to bite, as they don't have hormonla/territorial issues. With a rescue as well you'll get to know the rabbit before you adopt him, so you can choose a 'cuddle bun' who doesn't bite. :-)
Never smack them as they have very fragile bones and always hold there hind legs when you pick them up as they can break their own back when they kick into thin air.
@psychoguy1017 It doesn't hurt. It's like when someone pinches you. You should not fear that, it only happens if you hurt them, try to force them to do something they don't want to do, pick them up the wrong way (hurting them) - stuff like that. They have such personality, they are a lot of fun and will make you laugh alot.
@alice88 wow he's big! is that his normal size or is he just fat? is that u in the flanal pajamas? there cute!!!!!! and that little green toy. is it like a chew toy?
Looks like a fun rabbit and seems you take good care of Pancake! :)
I have a bunny myself (Henk) and it's a really cute animal. Henk never bit me, last time i gave him a carrot, and he didn't even eat that (he marked it first).
Guess i'm lucky with Henk. But your bunny is really great!
i have a bunny and this is what i know that u should never do : DONT LET UR RABBIT SHEW ON CARBOARD IF THEY R EATING IT AS IT WILL CAUSE DIGESTIVE PROMBLEMS. and when ur bunny jumps and twist and turns at the same time it is called binking - a sign of extreme happiness
Pancake is so adorable and such a happy bunny. Thank you so much for sharing these:):) I had my flemish giant for almost 12 years before he passed away. He was litter box trained too and had the roam of the house like a cat or dog. Pancake reminds me of him so much these videos bring back so many wonderful memories!!!
Bunnies run around like that and jump like crazy wen they are really happy and enjoy themselves :) That's good because it means your bunny is healthy :) Bet he would like to hump your leg or elbow :)
@jerryaltman Bunnies are extremely loving animals, but they're all different when it comes to friendliness. Some love company (like Pancake) and others hide when they see people. I wouldn't say they're selfish but they like to claim everything as "theirs" (rubbing their chin over things) to mark their territory. I've never had a problem though getting into my bun's "territory". Some bite if you put your hand in their cage. But I'd say most are loving.
@alicet88 Thank you for the answer so well. I supose if you get a male and female bunny, in a short time you will have 30 bunnies.
I had many cats and they personality vary a lot. Supose it's the same with bunnies. But what they eat, have they eat all they? Does make much dirt (faeces) rorund home, or get a place to that and always make in that place, like cats ?
They eat mainly vegetables and hay. They have some pellets at the stores for bunnies as well but you should give them more vegetables and hay over pellets as they're not "real" food. Bunnies are like cats: they litter in their box and groom themselves. My bunny's never bitten me so I can't say how hard they bite but I don't think it's dangerous. You'd have to read up on that.
@jerryaltman their bite is not dangerous at all. But what most people don't know is that if they sometimes nip one it means that they really love this person. In this case you should not take it for biting.
Bunnies belong to the best pets you can get, trust me. My last one who died two days ago used to give lots of kisses and always ran to me and jump around me in order to greet me.
They are all different but very lovely, they really deserve someone who takes care of them.
@jerryaltman hey, i hope you don't mind me answering your questions as well :) if you get bunnies it's better to have at least two because they need company of their own species. the best paring is a male and female, but you're right about mating. the male bunny should be neutered. I have two male bunnies and they're both neutered - they're less agressive when they are. Bunnies also need enough space, they easily get frustrated when they haven't. :)
@jerryaltman your bunny will love you if you take care of it :) and you must remember that you must play with it when it comes to you - not other way around. My bunny comes to me in the morining and evenings so I can stroke it's ears. Later it just leaves and goes to sleep. Remember to give your bunny AT LEAST 2 hours of running around a day - they are not ment to be kept in the cage all the time. My has it's cage open all the time.
@jerryaltman They're prey animals, so you have to bond with them so they know you're not going to eat them. After they've bonded, they can be as loving, if not more, than a cat or a dog. I like them because at times, they like to snuggle, but other times, if you're doing something (cleaning, cooking, etc), they can do their own thing and be perfectly happy.
My Rabbit does that but when she does it she goes side ways. I get a great laugh watching exploring something new and then just flying all over the place in excitement.
i got 2 bunnies...one is male and female..i sometimes see stuff like mating or something..i have totell them to stop because then one of them squeaks like a mouse.. O.O
It's commonly known as popcorning! Random bursts of energy, kind of like how humans sometimes get really hyper. Just a happy bunny getting excited is all! My rabbits do it too. :)
awwwww cute ;D
could someone please tell me what breed he is? ;)

I might get a rabbit soon I've done all the research and I have a medium tolerance to pain so how bad does it hurt if they bite you?
psychoguy1017 1 year ago
@psychoguy1017 I'm sorry, I ca't answer to that. The only time Pancake's ever bit me was while he was trying to get banana off my fingers, so it was more like a nibble. Bunnies don't really bite though unless they feel threatened in their territory (cage). That's about all I can say. Good luck!
alicet88 1 year ago 4
@alicet88 R.I.P. Pancake. He will be missed. Death is a terrible thing, it's sad to know that your best friend has passed. And I'm 200% sure that you would be there for your next bunny. May he rest in peace and I honestly hope his death was quick.
taquitos45 1 year ago
@taquitos45 Thank you for your warm thoughts. Fortunately he did die very quickly. That was the one thing I was glad about, that he didn't suffer too long. I won't be getting another one any time soon though...
alicet88 1 year ago
@alicet88 No problem, and I'm very happy to hear that he didn't suffer. I also hope you didn't suffer too long due to his death :/. I'm sorry for your loss.

@psychoguy1017 well rabbits dont bit .....they r so scared of humans ...they dont bit
TheMurtaza9000 1 year ago
@psychoguy1017
Piggie822 1 year ago
@psychoguy1017 The best thing to do would be to adopt a neutered bun from a rescue centre. Neutered rabbits are far less likely to bite, as they don't have hormonla/territorial issues. With a rescue as well you'll get to know the rabbit before you adopt him, so you can choose a 'cuddle bun' who doesn't bite. :-)
Hoppit89 1 year ago
@psychoguy1017 it doesnt hurt very much anyways they barley bite at all
MissMinisized 1 year ago
@psychoguy1017
They only bite you enough to say "Stop or else"
Never smack them as they have very fragile bones and always hold there hind legs when you pick them up as they can break their own back when they kick into thin air.
ncacace 1 year ago
@psychoguy1017 It doesn't hurt. It's like when someone pinches you. You should not fear that, it only happens if you hurt them, try to force them to do something they don't want to do, pick them up the wrong way (hurting them) - stuff like that. They have such personality, they are a lot of fun and will make you laugh alot.
theart1rm 1 year ago
@psychoguy1017 It hurts, but it's nothing compared to what it feels like when they die. Maybe you should get a fish for starters :)

I had never a bunny pet. Are they friendly, like with empath for humans like dogs and some cats ??? Or just selfish ?
jerryaltman 1 year ago
@jerryaltman Bunnies are extremely loving animals, but they're all different when it comes to friendliness. Some love company (like Pancake) and others hide when they see people. I wouldn't say they're selfish but they like to claim everything as "theirs" (rubbing their chin over things) to mark their territory. I've never had a problem though getting into my bun's "territory". Some bite if you put your hand in their cage. But I'd say most are loving.
alicet88 1 year ago
@alicet88 Thank you for the answer so well. I supose if you get a male and female bunny, in a short time you will have 30 bunnies.
I had many cats and they personality vary a lot. Supose it's the same with bunnies. But what they eat, have they eat all they? Does make much dirt (faeces) rorund home, or get a place to that and always make in that place, like cats ?
Is their bite dangerous ?
Sorry so many questions :-)
jerryaltman 1 year ago
@jerryaltman Oh yes! Bunnies mate VERY often!
You'd have to read up on that.
alicet88 1 year ago
@jerryaltman their bite is not dangerous at all. But what most people don't know is that if they sometimes nip one it means that they really love this person. In this case you should not take it for biting.
Bunnies belong to the best pets you can get, trust me. My last one who died two days ago used to give lots of kisses and always ran to me and jump around me in order to greet me.
They are all different but very lovely, they really deserve someone who takes care of them.
Lucynnyu 1 year ago
@jerryaltman hey, i hope you don't mind me answering your questions as well :) if you get bunnies it's better to have at least two because they need company of their own species. the best paring is a male and female, but you're right about mating. the male bunny should be neutered. I have two male bunnies and they're both neutered - they're less agressive when they are. Bunnies also need enough space, they easily get frustrated when they haven't. :)
Nimue1985 1 year ago
@jerryaltman you can check the videos i uploaded of my bunnies, so you can see why it's better to have two :)
Nimue1985 1 year ago
@jerryaltman your bunny will love you if you take care of it :) and you must remember that you must play with it when it comes to you - not other way around. My bunny comes to me in the morining and evenings so I can stroke it's ears. Later it just leaves and goes to sleep. Remember to give your bunny AT LEAST 2 hours of running around a day - they are not ment to be kept in the cage all the time. My has it's cage open all the time.
slh86 1 year ago
@jerryaltman It sleesps with you and hugs you and reads you bedtime storys lol xD
MaruYamazaki 1 year ago
@jerryaltman They're prey animals, so you have to bond with them so they know you're not going to eat them. After they've bonded, they can be as loving, if not more, than a cat or a dog. I like them because at times, they like to snuggle, but other times, if you're doing something (cleaning, cooking, etc), they can do their own thing and be perfectly happy.
