8 US fluid ounces is 0.24 L.
1mg/L x 0.24 L gives 0.24 mg.

1 ppm is equal to 0.000998859 grams.
There are 1000mg in 1 gram . How do you come up with .25 mg in a cup of water?

The amount of fluoride in 8 ounces of water fluoridated to 1ppm is a .25 milligram of fluoride -the same amount that is in a pea size amount of toothpaste only no warning from poison control not to drink it.
