@LeonardoGulli Yeah because he still has to be able to emote with his mouth. Honestly, the mouth setup was pretty bad on Walter because my blend shapes weren't very good. That's why his mouth doesn't move more.
Yeah, rigging is by far the most frustrating thing, followed by textures and lighting. I use Blender, so I don't have the cool tools you have (That I know of), But I've learned that turning SubSurf on helps with a few of the realistic issues. Turning them off for animating helps with the CPU, so that's a plus. Anyway, great videos. I may not have Maya, but I'm learning a LOT. Thanks
i had once tried the bones-in-clothes setup for deformations (like the tie/collar bit), but i had thought that surely it wouldn't work. glad to see it's useful implementation :)
this is very nice to see how animators work, or at least you do. I learnded a lot and Im trying to translate the most things to blender! OpenSource rocks :D
Wow you are really indepth with all this stuff(as in depth as you can be for a few minutes) I have a question though How long have you been using XSI? because it really seems like you know every inch of it lol
I've been using XSI for a little over 4 years. I worked with it for just a couple of months before starting PI. There are definitely people who know it way better than I do though.
Yep. I had only used XSI for a couple of months before starting PI. I had played around with other packages before that but I was still a beginner when I started PI.

just a simple question here.
because you didnt make walter talk, do you still create blend shapes and controls to make him talk?

BUt, but... You said that the animation took 4 years to make.. wich means you (almost) did't knew how to use XSI in the begining of the production?
