Wow gonna start this challenge tonight, this is perfect for daughter and I. She is natural 4b , for the past 11 mos Ive be transitioning from relax to natural. Ive been experience slow growth so hopefully this would give me the boost I need.
my hair is extremely short and the castor oil and evoo is getting on my scalp would this effect the process of the benefits of my natural sebum that the GHE would have on my hair?
@Frenchimichelle1 well i advise not putting anything directly on your scalp but there's no way to prevent any oil from getting on your scalp period if your hair is covered in oil no matter how long or short your hair is...as long as you aren't applying oil directly to your scalp you should be fine
I've been doing the ghe since Aug 24, 2011- Present. Everyday!! I oil my scalp w/ either castor oil or olive oil. Plus I add moisture to my hair(basically, in a 4oz bottle I mix water, oil of choice and megatek & I spray it onto my hair.) Next, I twist my hair in a protective style. I put on my plastic hair bags (sometimes TWO plastic bags). After, I tie my hair. AND I SAW NO RESULTS CONCERNING GROWTH!! :( Bummer! :( However, I notice my hair doesnt break as much!b :) But that's it.
@befitinthirtydays you're doing it all wrong...the whole point of doing the green house effect is to allow your scalps natural oil (sebum) to come out and aid with the growth and health of your hair...so applying an oil to your scalp just defeats the whole purpose...i never put anything on my scalp ever...plus you aren't supposed to use a growth aid or unnatural moisturizer, I recommend using water to moisten, then applying a butter and oil to seal in the moisture
@befitinthirtydays I like to keep it extremely simple, and use 100% natural butters and oils to maintain the hair and just leave the scalp alone...i have a blog that has more info about it with all the frequently asked questions I get regarding the GHE...I've posted the link in the description box...good luck to you going forward and happy hair journey :)
please I really want to know if you apply your castor oil on damp or on dry hair !! I wanted to ask on the ning website but I don't understand very well this website sorry or disturbing and thanks in advance !!!
@MissSexyBlack731 i did it about 4-6 times a week for the first 2 months and the last month i slacked off and only did it a few times for the whole month...I've never been relaxed but it works really well on relaxed hair
@Indi3Blu i just flat ironed it with shea butter and i butter and seal it daily and wrap it with a satin head tie every night to maintain it....i have a video on how i flat iron and how i butter and seal too
i love babies...everytime i see a cute one it ALMOST makes me want one of my own...ALMOST. :). She is such a doll baby and that smile is so beautiful.
did you every relaxed your hair during the growth process, and if so how often? I have very fine curly hair kinda like the first picture i saw of you, so what kind or relaxer is used do you recommend because my hair is very sensitive and cant take as much, i mean heat will take it right out with just one use, so i really want to be careful on choosing a relaxer for my hair type
Hello your hair looks great i jus started back doing the ghe and im loving it;p Please feel free to watch my video when you have time;p
