  • i have a question.. what was the rod and reel he was using ? and what was that trailer ?

  • do you guys sponser?

  • Jigs are nice, those water conditions in this vid you should pitch some spinner baits out there, you will see alot of fish.

  • Great video thanks for sharing!

  • That is pitching

  • that thing you do at 2:19...that's...flipping, right? I am new to learning this...is that flipping? And also, any advice on that?

  • Dave shares his fishing knowledge weekly on Dock Talk @radiorocket . net check it out !

  • just got my pro mega's today and the quality is top notch i was all about strike king jigs but these are sweeeeeet!

  • get new spiderwire

  • What's that purple trailer with the twister tail?

  • How do you know when the fish takes the jig?

  • @tubefish123 hopefully you'll feel it. But you should also watch your line because it might twitch...Jig bites can be hard to detect.

  • haha "thats a real brushy brush pile there"

  • 2:40.....Thats wat she said

  • this dude sounds just like bill paxton from twister. ITS WASTED JO!

  • your line is tangled and spiaralie

  • hehe..dickherber.. lOL OMFG THATS FUCKIKNG FUNNY BRO HAHAHA ,,.....sry

  • when u were pullin out line did u get backlash?

  • you over weighed your fish a little but i loved this video

  • nice vid,id love to be able to skip baits,i cant the hang of it with my baitcaster

  • you really should switch line....

  • "and she choked on it" ... sweet

  • I do dock fishing all the time and i dident think tha t a jig would work

  • so i like to take a long worm and pitch in either under docks with a seven foot pole or in sunken willow bushes with a 6" 5 pole... i catch lots of large mouth, but how can i catch small mouth?

  • @lgnstk123

Smallies are a different beast all together. Althought alot of the same lures are used ( Spinnerbaits, Jigs, Crankbaits, plastics, etc..) the techniques are altered or different all together. For Smallies in rivers try natural colored un-weighted soft plastics (senkos, dingers) in the slack water pools. On lakes look for gravel bottoms and try ripping a lipless crankbait over bottom. Look for sandy shoals with boulders and try burning a double willow all white 1/2ounce spinnerbait.

  • @netefrog ive been pound summer smallies on jigs, im not sayin they wont hit other stuff but if there eatin craws you gotta give em what they want

  • @ponchotime856 He's not pulling a backlash he's letting line out for the jig to fall more naturally instead of falling back towards him. Pretty common technique.

  • wanna overweigh your fish more?

  • I hate it when people dont look at the fish for more than two seconds

  • the problem we have here in nebraska at the pond i like to go to out in the country is heavy moss, have yet to see a jig that will work on moss.

  • @HuskerFishing You need a heavier jig to punch through the moss then.

  • The lake does have some rock and areas are silted in as well in upper stretches of the feeder creeks. most bites were 3-5 feet.

  • how deep are the fish under those docks? like 2 feet? and is it a rock bottom lake?

  • What color water does it work i better??

  • it is sweet.good work thanks

  • what pound line do you use?

  • man he needs to changes his line lol

  • Dave, that sure looks more like Lake St. Louis than Ozarks to me. Anyway great video.

  • @dudemeininger YES!! I knew it!! Espically when he went through the levee thing

  • You should check out the new DVD by OMEGA Advanced Jig Fishing Techniques. I teaches the different aspects of jig fishing such as what to look for, how to retrieve, when to use different types of jigs etc...

  • I really need to become a better Jig fishermen I'll throw it out 15 or 20 times catch nothing then switch to my safety baits, either a senko or a crank.

  • great vid!!

  • all i got to say is your gunna need alot of those jigs if your gunna use mono around docks!

  • Btw I tried this jig before. But never much skipp it like this but I use it with a combination with a black wiggler. good for weedy area or with lots of lilly pads. caught a 5lbs with it before it got to the trees lol

  • Well If you fish for bass enough you should know that many times bass are not very picky eater. Some bass are just territory and you might end up catching some through that. In Mn bass will take anything black that moves. If small mouths from rivers they take anything from blueish/greenish lures or jigs. On this video I like how this jig is able to get into tight location. I enjoy fishing for bass from early mornings or late towards the evenings. Just my thoughts.

  • If you are strictly Flipping I like the 7'6" Hvy. Daiwa Zillion rod. If you are doing more Pitching, roll casting and skipping the 7' Hvy action Zillion by Daiwa is about as good as it gets.

  • i want to start flippin but not shure on the rod and reel to get if you could help me out?

  • how do you skip it like that without backlash?

  • i love this video, how the hell do you skip a jig that well? im totally gonna buy this DVD when it comes out...

  • are bass good to eat???? i know sea bass are

  • @playtapus not largemouth/smallmouth, some people eat them, but don't, they are a sport fish and they don't taste good either

  • @SlayerODragon thanks. i know sea bass are and i heard that you could eat them but just take the skin off but ill go with your opinion thanks.

  • have you ever used like a jig with a brown skirt with a white trailer or white craw?

  • need some new line on tht thing

  • We just shot a segment on skipping/pitching this weekend for the new DVD which should be available @ the first of the year.

  • @omegacustomtackle man i wish i was an adult with money, a car and time so i could buy all the fishing videos and gear that i needed-that would be great

  • What's some advice for learning how to pitch-skip?

  • love the pro mega 3/8 and 5/8 oz i put a reaction innovation smallie beaver on it for a trailor any suggestions for any other trailors if im using it to pitch docks and other cover?

  • @VermontFishing101 I personally like a big chunk or craw on these 2 baits. The smallie beaver is excellent on the Baby J Super finesse Jig. Once the water gets in the low 40's I will use it without a skirt on the jig head and it murders cold water Bass.

  • what do you think about the colour black and blue? ND WHY DONT YOU USE BRAIDED LINE?

  • what do you think about the colour black and blue?

  • @basskidd123 Blk/Blu is very good just about everywhere.

  • @omegacustomtackle your an incredible skipper! how do you do it?

  • what kind of line were you using?

  • @pyxiefrog124 I'm not sure if it's mono or fluoro, but it does look old.

  • what kind of rod action and length did u use for fishing in this video?

  • you have a little memory in your line there.

  • @ratzlaff516 its flouro

  • what is this for a rod/reel ? steez ??

  • @sidosido3 i think so...or kistler helium 2

  • docks are my strength how i won my junior stat championship

  • at 2:12 it sounds like the camera got hit with an arrow lol.Btw those jigs look amazing i think i might buy some.

  • nice

  • nice skipping under them docks

  • pretty sure this is lake st. louis not lake of the ozarks

  • @mikeyred78 yeah that's what I was thinking too

  • can u use that jig with a worm trailer on it like a 7 inch

  • of course you can...

i wouldnt see the point. The jig and trailer represents a crawfish. With a 7 in worm you just want that to represent what it is...a worm. T-RIG the worm with a bullet weight and ur good to go

  • its a real brushy brush pile

  • what kind of pole and reel is that that is nice

  • wat trailer did u use

  • watch the whole video he says it...

  • hey guy wat is the best time to fish foe bass on dock, someone let me know

  • you need to change your line bro

  • nice line twist.

  • Garvrick19 looks like one to me..but not 100% sure..my fishing partner uses steeze.. i use the kistler H2..but dave i have no idea how you skip that bait that way..im such a noob to skipping with a bait caster..my reels looks more like a zoo with the amount of birds nest i have :-(

  • super chunks good with them? i might order some

  • Absolutely when you are looking for a large profile bait

  • sounds good

  • how are you not getting a backlash when the jig hits the water?

  • its called skill we all have it its not hard.

  • Is that a Steez combo?

  • great guys keep it up!

  • cool video
