@Angelus12308 - No he is right. They are race spec CBR600RR engines with a controlled ECU. Early testing showed 160 rwhp but they backed it down to 145 rwhp to keep reliablility and longevitiy in the engines.
But there is no way they would be as fast as the 800's. The 800's are only 325 pounds and are pushing almost 215 rwhp. I can't wait for GP to go back to 990 in a year. Yay 250 horsepower!!!!
i was under the impression 250s were able to race along the m2s this year..., apparently not despite the 3second advantage. must have been an amendment to the rules
The Moto2 bikes should sound like CBR600RR motorcycles because this will be a one engine manufacturer series, namely Honda. All teams will receive the same sealed engine in this new class. The class will run on Dunlop controlled tyres, meaning that chassis development will be king. Can't wait for this series to start.
I don't think the moto2 bikes are ridiculous. The moto2 bikes will become faster than the 250 en supersport. Compared to supersport moto2 it has almost the same power, less weight, better chassis etc.
that's the point.... in wss they make around 140-150.... but they are changing 2 engine per weekend, ten kate for example uses a engine for friday and saturday and 1 engine on sunday...they are less reliable than 2 strokes, with such powers, so how can a moto2 engine with 150 hp least for 3 races?
first of all there are still no moto2 official engines, so they are not making 150 hp as they are not making 120 too.
150 is what honda said, but i can guarantee it will not be like that... then lets wait a couple of weeks and you will see that from 150 will be less ;)
@MrPowertech didnt they change the firing order on the m1? and i think it sounds like that because its 800. it sounded like that the previous year also but not when they were 1000s. Get ready for next year tho cause we're goin back to liter
Not true...bikes rev much higher...up to 155bhp...with fully open ended exhausts.. I have witnessed both.These Moto2 bikes really scream. I am looking forward to 38 of them on the first lap !!
I think they are using off the shelf power plants but they are given certain levels of modification to play with when it comes to the engine itself. The chassis is all in house stuff from an independent manufacturer. Should be good to watch. I think they will get atleast 140 to 150hp out of these bikes, but it depends on how many engines they can use over a season!
moriwaki 600s scream!!

the 250's have been refined over many many years. I'm sure over time these bikes will eventually destroy the 250's.

@fabioRACE But on certain tracks the moto2 are already as fast as the fastest 250...and u have to remember, they are still in protype form! :)
TurboNosHayabusa1 2 years ago 3
@fabioRACE I meant prototype...
TurboNosHayabusa1 2 years ago
the fast ones are the ones using SS 140 hp engine... moto2 official engines will be 120-125 hp ;)
fabioRACE 2 years ago
@fabioRACE
I thought the official engines will be around 150 rwhp... 120hp can't be right, even a WSS engine makes more...

Are you sure about those engines of they are using is real MOTO2 spec engines.
They said in days ago in the sites, of the organizations provide engines are still in preparation?
I guess that 1 in the clip should prepared by own factory team, not by FIM.
