  • Comment removed

  • amazing :) simply devine :) thanks

ps.. i didnt know the walken family line descended from a good roman families blood lines :P haha

  • Dumbledoor and Christopher Walken?

  • I have a movie in mind...What about, Spartacus blood and sand, Spartacus Gods of the arena, and the Kingdom Of heaven.

Thank you for everything, I subscribed, Liked, and I love you too lol, but I'm male

  • This is the best scene ever on film depicting the Roman Emperor Sula

  • big help for my work im doing

  • @2supermaro fanks for commenting u helped me find this vid fanks Jamaal

  • Hi guiss how can i find all this story please

  • Thank you for posting this.

  • L..C. deleciously evil

  • Great TV movie!

  • caesar is great

  • is this based on Shakespeare's play?

  • HistoryLover1550, I agree that Liam Neeson would make a great Caesar, but I love this actor. Brad Pitt would have made a great Pompey. PS, Caesar's first wife Cornelia died giving birth to a stillborn child when Julia was 13.

  • Caesar is awesome. I read the Shakespeare play Julius Caesar. It was really good. The Greeks and the Romans were awesome! When the movie starts, it's 82 bc. Caesar was 18, he looked in his 20s. His daughter Julia was born in 82 bc. In the beginning, she looks about 7 or 8. Just saying.

  • i uploaded it as 2 parts

  • @HistoryLover1550 Those books are epic, end of story

  • LOL the way they represant Alexander the great, the romans were jealous of him

  • was julia born when sulla took over rome? even if she was, she can't be tht old.. am i correct or not?

  • @zusamin1 Whether Julia could have been born during Sulla's march on Rome...? I'm glad you brought that up because I thought she would've been too young to exist then also, knowing that Caesar was only 13. But I guess I just must remember that they had children earlier then, because Caesar was in exile long after, and couldn't have made Julia with the corresponding wife he had her with. Also, I checked the dates and Sulla invaded Rome in 88 B.C., several years before the moment of Julia's birth.

  • For fellow Caesar fans, read Conn Igguldens "Emperor" series, it's really good!

  • Vote up if u think Liam neeson would make a good Caesar.

  • Thnx so much for uploading this, I haven't seen this movie since I was a kid.

  • Okay so me and my grandmother were talking the other day and the subject of Julius Caesar came up. Do you say Pompey like the town that got buried in ash by Mount Visuvius or do you say it with a long E?

  • @zutara243 Most people say it like that town. You must expect most historical title to be pronounced differently all throughout the world, though.

  • @bentonrp I've always said it like P-O-M-P-E-E. Is that wrong?

  • @zutara243 Not really. It's very common to pronounce ancient titles differently, and in fact I've heard 'Pompey' pronounced like that many times. I've heard 'Parmenion' pronounced without the 'n' by scholars, I've heard Mycenae pronounced with long 'e's as well as with a long 'y.' Even 'Patroclus' is pronounced differently in the Troy movie than in the Alexander one. Ancient names have been passed to so many different nationalities, it's sort of like asking if it's wrong to speak with an accent.

  • Thanks very much for taking the time to post this....much appreciated!

  • "Since did The Senate Represent PEOPLE?" We are still waiting 2000 years later.

  • @maximojuliani julius caesar went to pontus when he said veni vidi vici, he defeated a son of mithradites VI, who got bested by pompey the great

  • JEREMY SISTO!!he has mi first name ''JEREMY'' i love this actor!!

  • One of my favorite movies! Yay Caesar!

  • Hail Julias Caesar!!!!!!

  • @soukupb Fuck the pompus Caesar! Murderer and oppressor of the Celts!!!

  • @GoldenAxeVox666

...actually it was the Celtic tribes of the north-eastern territories of Gaul, to have called Julius Caesar and his legions to protect them and against Germanic invaders (if not from their own tribes massacring each other).

Furthermore - MOST IMPORTANT - You're forgetting that 90% of Caesar's soldiers during the "Bello Gallico" (or Gallic Wars), in his legions WERE ACTUALLY CELTS, recruited in the provincial territories of the Cisalpine Gaul and "Gallia Narbonensis". >:)

  • @2serveand2protect conquered slaves no doubt..

  • @GoldenAxeVox666 ha!ha!ha!... rather EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE :D

SLAVES (born or become) had NO RIGHT to serve in the "LEGIO".

Since the times of Caius Marius and his military reforms ALL OF THESE FOLKS WERE ALL VOLUNTEERS and ALL PROFESSIONALS.

You are thinking - instead - about the Ancient Gauls in terms almost of a modern nation, which is just an XIXth century romantic myth.

Celts from the Cisalpine Gaul DIDN'T GIVE A RAT'S ASS, about their neighbours living evven a 100 kilometers away.

  • @2serveand2protect Well I am aware of the Roman collaborations, such as Germanic tribes doing so, and of course there was tribal feuds, warrior cultures live for battle even if in the same ethnic groups, and I know they were not a sovereign nation, but a large occupied ethnic group area with roads to all cities for trade, or even attack. either way, Romans started the end of the environmentally harmonized, my cultures ways of life, and the introduction of Christianity which caused 1500 years of

  • @GoldenAxeVox666 oppression of science and medicine, which the Celts were on their way to understanding before the arrival of the bloody Romans...

  • @GoldenAxeVox666

Please, man, don't understand me wrong!

I respect the Ancient Celts' culture, but (obviously) I have also an interest for the Great History of Rome and its civic and military culture...

    ...no!...

    ...not interest...

    It's a true PASSION.

...but, once more - DON'T GET ME WRONG - it's a passion for HISTORY, its mechanisms - it's a study why do we became what we are now and go into the future, without making the same errors.

It's NOT "LOVE FOR ROME" - it's PASSION FOR HISTORY.

  • @2serveand2protect I have a true passion for history, but I take sides and Northern Europe is my area of highest interest, besides, most of what was written about Rome and'the barbarians' was written by Caesar and Romans to glorify their culture in history. Fortunately there are many talented Archaeologists in the world, digging up the real truth, Rome claims to have built the first roads, the first astronomers, but in fact the Celts, especially those in Northern Gaul and Britain, -

  • @GoldenAxeVox666 were many centuries ahead of the Romans in these sciences.....

And yes, I hold 2,500 year old grudges for my ancestors......

  • @GoldenAxeVox666

Well, the fact that most of what was written about Gauls was written by Romans and - first of all - Caesar is a fact. No doubts about it.

Well ...good for You, for Your passion for History. For me - however - it is a science - NOTHING MORE.

"GOOD" or "BAD" belong to "ETHICS" - and is very relative.

I take sides, too... but not when I read a historical book.

    Have a good day!

    :)

  • @2serveand2protect actually no, Caesar was the most arrogant and Horrible of all the Roman Emperors ( with the exception of Nero), he wrote that the Celts had no knowledge of science or astronomy, and that they were unskilled other than their craft of metallurgy. He made up half of "His-Story"

  • @GoldenAxeVox666

    1 of 3

You know, man - I'm starting to have serious doubts if we're understanding each other.

I AGREED with what You wrote me previously about the fact that Caesar wrote what he wanted to write about ancient Celts, and You're responding with: "ACTUALLY, NO..."!?

"...ACTUALLY NO..." - WHAT? That you don't want to have good day? :D

    Well...

...if that's Your choice, I can't do ANYTHING to make it go better.

    (>>>)

  • @GoldenAxeVox666 (>>>)

    (2/3)

Besides - You're starting to contraddict Yourself.

DUDE! It's true that the Celts presented in the "De Bello Gallico" are presented as "ferocious", "savage", etc...

....BUT!... - THINK and RESPOND to this question:

    > THE GOAL OF CAESARS' BOOK WAS TO GLORIFY HIS VICTORIES IN GAUL - THEN IF HE WOULD HAVE DIMINISHED SO MUCH THE ENEMIES HE WON - DON'T YOU THINK THAT HE WOULD AT THE SAME TIME DIMINISH HIS OWN VICTORIES???

  • @2serveand2protect And if this is the question you wish for me to answer, calm down and try it again, grammatically its a mess and I barely understand it..

  • @GoldenAxeVox666 (>>>)

    (3/3) - THIRD AND FINAL:

You're starting to seem to me, as SOMEONE WHO INSTEAD OF GIVING ARGUMENTATIONS CARES ONLY ABOUT SAYING THE LAST WORD.

    QUOTE: "...yes - I hold 2500 y. grudge for my ancestors...". :D

Against WHOM You have this "grudge"? ...because if it's against ME - than I'm not even Italian...

    ...and FOR SURE not Roman!

I WISH YOU TO HAVE A GOOD DAY, ANYWAY!

...and if You don't want it - that's Your business.

I have no more time for such "discussions".

  • @2serveand2protect Apparently English isn't your first language, you don't seem to understand what I'm saying, Caesar manipulated history by lying about what the Gauls were like, and glorified Rome in his writings which had thought to have been fact for centuries, but archaeologists are finding his reports falsified, he distorted the truth to make himself look better. The man was an egomaniac if only the Helveitie's warriors weren't off doing other things during a women and children migration-

  • @GoldenAxeVox666 They would have annihilated the legions trying to cross the Alps and Rome would have stayed where it should have, if only Brennus, years earlier had just conquered the city instead of asking for a small ransom to leave, but it wasn't about conquest for him, it was about the honor of sacking Rome. In the end I wish Vercingetorix would have used different tactics and rushed the troops outside his walls and set their barriers in flames. But I take pride in knowing my-

  • @GoldenAxeVox666 Scoti, Pictish, and Gaelic ancestors never Let Rome conquer them, or anyone for that matter, Hadrian's wall was a cowardly last pitch effort to keep the Picts at bay, as no Roman could ever defeat them in the forests, the Lochs and the Highland hills of Pictland. Caesar was a greedy bastard in need of gold, and knowing the Celts were rich, he decided he needed to plunder them for it, Before the Gaulish wars, there were no gold coins struck in Rome, after, they seemed to appear .

  • @GoldenAxeVox666

NO, in fact English is my fourth language. :)

BTW - neither it seems YOUR first one, considering how much effort You put into:

    1. "talking" with Yourself, like in the comments above and the TOTAL BULLSHITS You write as "THERE WERE NO GOLD COINS IN ROME BEFORE CAESARS' CONQUEST OF GAUL" ...WHAT??? :D

DUDE! WHERE THE HELL DID YOU GET THIS? :D :D

    2. not answering to questions;

    3. Trying to oppose again statements that I already agreed with You for;

    Goodnight, man! :D

  • @2serveand2protect It is a fact that during Caesar's reign, he was broke. No gold was minted until he started conquering the metal rich lands of Gaul. the same fate that was bestowed upon Dacia, now shamefully named "Romania" after the genocide of the Indo-European Dacian People of the Carpathian Mountains. And mate, the correct term is Your, not You're if that is what you are implying. And pray tell, what questions have you asked of me oh great bard of the ages?

  • @GoldenAxeVox666

    ...whatever...

At first it was "Rome never coined gold before the the conquest of Gaul",

now it's: "during Caesar's "reign" there was no gold until the conquest of Gaul".

A simple question like: "by diminishing the valour of your own opponents, don't you diminish the imprtance of your own victory?" IS SO DAMN HARD TO UNDERSTAND...

Learn 4 languages, SOME History and when You grow up a bit, we'll be "talking" again...

By now now I leave You the last word.

    Have a good day.

  • Being told they have nothing to fear is guaranteed to strike fear into the hearts of innocent people anywhere!

  • everytime i hear Christopher Walken talk i keep thnking he's gona ask for more cowbell lol

  • TNT presents ;D

  • as soon as i saw christopher walken i thought this was a comedy lol

  • A very bad film. The entrance of Sulla in the Senate is entirely misplaced. Sulla, the chief of the Optimates, the party of the aristocrates, speaking in the name of ”the people” against the aristocrates of the Senate?! A historian as counselor it would mean so much. Another stupidity, Alexander Macedon as ”son of Apollo”, Alexander had nothing to do with Hermes (Apollo).

  • @QuintyS Also why is sulla riding into the city with scouts? Rome didn't begin to develop Cavalry for another Generation and even then no Legate would ever have them as his entourage

  • @QuintyS I like your point about Alexander's descent from Zeus Ammon, but Sulla isn't claiming to speak for the people. He's telling the Senate that the claims of the Populares in the Senate that they speak for the People of Rome are rubbish and that anyone who pisses him off is going to end up being fed to Sulla's dogs. That includes the Senators on his list of proscribed men. Mark Anthony's speech in favour of Caesar later illustrates the difference between Caesar and Sulla.

  • Lol sallas is Marcus Aurelius in Gladiator

  • Christopher walken is a damn good actor, hes funny or serious.

  • I'm reading this too, it's actually pretty good, I made a small spriting play for it if anyone wants to check it out.

  • Thanks dude!

I watched the movie and got a 92 on the unit exam.

  • Yai! Ima pass my midterm exam :D

  • boring

  • Is this very similar or exactly like the play Julius caesar or is it a little different but based on the book. Thanks :)

  • i have a big test of Julius Caesar and this is helping me alot thanks (: if you want more info about julius caesar ( sparksnotes - no fear shakespeare - modern english ) helped me alot 2

  • i like the Cleopatra movie's verison of Caesar better [=

  • Great movie. Thanks for uploading. Actually Sulla died a natural death after he retired from public life.

  • We watched this movie in English Class after we listened to the play, which was extremely boring to me, but the movie is pretty cool. It loosely follows the play towards the end, but I thought it was a pretty good movie.

  • jeremy sisto fans

  • Julius Caesar was a great man. His goals were idealistic but his methods pragmatic. All Hail Caesar!

  • this is a big help on my project :)

  • @keixia20 your welcome

  • yes seems very intersting ceasar the greatest roman roman

  • @keixia20 Same here

  • this is a big help to my project :)

  • Julius Caesar is the best historical person ever.

  • Why do Americans do this to history? Fucking ingrates.

  • @jacksawild because we have enough money to make movies. Now crawl back into your mud hut and eat your grain porridge like a good shitbag.

  • @EpicTrollBeastMan *patpat*

I saw this some years ago in German television. Thought it was a German production. Lol.

  • @jacksawild You think you can do better, tough guy?

  • i like the little girl so cute he needs to find the mother oh no

  • i have seen some parts from the movie in Latin but i want to see whole the movie and now i can

  • Julius Caesar is making me objectify men.

  • Thank Youuuuuuuuuuuuu for the upload!!!! I've been searching for this movie since apes started walking upright!!!

  • the prison guards armor isn't acurate for the time period

  • Comment removed

  • I got as far as Sulla ordering Caesar to prision. Read Colleen McCullochs Masters of Rome series if you would like a well researched, great story. I now know why I have never heard of this movie, what a waste of effort and good props. Thanks for posting anyway.

  • @mjgray32 McCullough does a great job with Marius and Sulla, but her hero worship of Caesar is borderline stalkerish

  • OMG You have no idea how much I love you right now! I've been looking everywhere for this movie!!!!!! THANKS SO MUCH!

  • Too bad,in the French DVD,they have cut Sulla's speech to the Senate and many others interesting moments this sucks (I'm French ^^)

  • man, when those blacklists went out.... jeez, talk about chaos.......

  • bgd to7faaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • I keep expecting Christopher Walken, as an Ancient Roman, to suddenly say "Ego postulo magis carnero campana."

  • Does anyone know if this is like the play by shakespeare?

  • @ChaseRoflStomps

    Go watch it numnuts.

  • @ChaseRoflStomps Well, the play is really only a small portion of what this movie shows. In the play, it is only about Caesar's death, not about the whole life of Caesar, so I would say that this movie follows more history than the play.

  • Thank you for this. I watched it in class but the kids wouldn't shut the hell up so I didn't hear important things.

  • Don't expect that the statues of him will look like him...

  • Argh.. this Sulla looks nothing like the actual statues of him...

  • Ha I can't take christopher walken as a serious Ancient Roman

  • @Toomapoosh lol specially considering the fact that he keeps the east cost accent.. haha

  • @Toomapoosh right,he always looks like he is from Wild West xD

  • @Toomapoosh

I agree but he is a great actor and one of my favorite.

  • @Toomapoosh Christopher Walken as a Senator of Rome; You know why? ...Because some Ancient Romans had New York accents. XP

  • ROMANS RULE!!!!!

GREEKS YOU SUCK SPARTA IS SHIT YOU ALL GET OWNED

BUNCH OF NOOBS YOU ARE NO MATCH FOR HIGHLY TRAINED LEGIONARIES AND PRAETORIANS OF OURS

    GTFO,

    THIS IS ROME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @xcsrnetvideos

What is Rome , asskicked by Attila and later saved by the barbarians , raped by the gaulish king Brennos , almost raped by Vercingetorix , hiding behind a wall because they feared the picts , humilated by Hannibal , assraped by the Wisigoth of Alaric, massacred in Germania , paying other peoples to fight for them , conquering only tribals but unable to defeat unified people . You're right this is rome !

  • @NasriTheNewKing all that happened when ceasar wasnt around cesar would of gave a great fight to hannibal barca he would of fought attila and won he always went high he didnt really attack little tribes(he did dont get me wrong)he only attack places that got him angry and with out marc antony after him he would have been forgotten

  • @markman12ful

Well when he invaded Gallia it was divided , Parisii , Hevetii , Belgea etc it was Vercingetorix that unified them 6 years after the begining of the war , Ceaser was lucky at alesia that the gauls didn't listen to Vercingetorix's plan + the belgeas weren here too ( described as the bravest gauls by Ceaser ) , but i guess luck is a important point for a leader , and yeah ceaser against Hannibal would have be cool to see but i think hannibal would have win .

  • @xcsrnetvideos your comment is stupid as hell! Without Greeks Romans were nothing!

  • @Toomapoosh DAMN YOU fat boy slim.

  • Oh my goodness thank you SOO much for this! I had to watch it in english but I never payed attention! so I can watch it now!! THANK YOU!! :)

  • where is part 2?

  • excellent work by the actors

  • Also, they stole from Sleeping Beauty by having Pompey bring Sulla the heart of a pig, instead of Caesar's. Lame.

  • If you're watching the movie hoping for historical accuracy...don't. In the first couple parts alone, there are inaccuracies galore. Both of the actors who play Caesar and Pompey respectively aren't fair of hair. Julia was not yet born during Sulla's proscriptions or even Sulla's lifetime. And on and on.

  • Gee, Sulla looks weak.

  • @Boyyie1 He is old and even if he does look old he has a dangerous armee behind him.

  • @Boyyie1

Julia Gillard name is Julia. Was that Julius sister they were referring to as Julia ?

  • Wonderful, thank you for the upload. I watched this on tv a couple of years ago. Great to watch it in English.

  • hellz yeah I found it!! w00t! okay sorry but I needed to get that out. I have to watch this for my class and you just made my life a hella easier. :3

  • thanks for the upload!!
