this girl went to my school (manhattan school of music) and this song is about one of the humanities teachers, david eisenbach. the word she is saying at the beginning is his last name backwards. everybody talks about her weird obsession with him. the red book she's reading about 'self-esteem' in one shot in this video came from our student life office. kinda creepy.

i understand your argument, but it's impossible for this song to be about david archuleta, because this song was written in 2004, four years BEFORE david archuleta was on american idol. besides, this song is about david eisenbach, a teacher at the manhattan school of music. anybody who is a TRUE fan of this song knows that.

@KnutFreakKid ha thanks for this-- i had eisenbach at columbia and he mentioned nellie mckay offhand (this was waaay back in 2006 and i believe he was teaching at both schools at the time.) so we went and looked her up and found this song and were convinced in a conspiracy theory-kind of way that this was about him because he was always drinking poland springs water, which is mentioned in the song, i think? (just wondering, did she straight-up say it was him in an interview of something?)

this girl went to my school (manhattan school of music) and this song is about one of the humanities teachers, david eisenbach. the word she is saying at the beginning is his last name backwards. everybody talks about her weird obsession with him. the red book she's reading about 'self-esteem' in one shot in this video came from our student life office. kinda creepy.
