Actually, we had stuff as you put it before we had corporations. Businesses succeeded because they could make more stuff faster and cheeper than small mom and pop shops. But when corporations grow beyond an optimum size, their efficiency sometimes goes down and they always become vulnerable to the greedy types who are more interested in profit than in turning out a decent product and paying a living wage to workers.

The thing we have to remember here is people got to this event in cars - made by corporations. Actually, we had stuff as you put it before we had corporations. Businesses succeeded because they could make more stuff faster and cheeper than small mom and pop shops. But when corporations grow beyond an optimum size, their efficiency sometimes goes down and they always become vulnerable to the greedy types who are more interested in profit than in turning out a decent product and paying a living wage to workers.
