Obama said he believes marriage is between a man and a women but he opposed Proposition 8 which would have eliminated same-sex marriage in California so it's probably safe to say he won't be banning gay marriage. The problem with making it legal in all states is that there are a lot of discriminatory homophobic assholes that will do what they want anyway. Obama said he believes marriage is between a man and a women but he opposed Proposition 8 which would have eliminated same-sex marriage in California so it's probably safe to say he won't be banning gay marriage. The problem with making it legal in all states is that there are a lot of discriminatory homophobic assholes that will do what they want anyway. The same way there are still people being fired for their race or gender but being told it's for something else.

Why do you think the Chapters John and Paul are? It's sections written from them, as the authors... The Church decided what went into the Bible. In ancient Greece,young men were hired by employer, for field work or what ever, but part of this job was "doing what your employer said" and ot a certain degree it was accepted for the employer and employee to have a gay relationship. it was considered part of the job.

Actually having many wives is an Old Testament biblical tradition that liberal society has rejected because it treats women as unequal and as property. King Solomon had 700 wives and Abraham and many other major biblical characters bought more than one wife. Things do change. We now know that pork can be very bad for you if it is not kept clean and so we have laws now that govern the raising of pork to keep it safe for consumption. No where in the bible did God sanction polygamy nor made lawful, more than one living wife for any man. Quite the contrary, He FORBADE IT, even to the kings of Israel, and that by written STATUTE! It's never good enough to say 'I was only following orders'. So I don't see how you can ultimately avoid assessing your actions upon the likely consequences for others.

And lest we be too critical, the truth is that JFK was dragged into civil rights kicking and screaming because he thought it would cost him the south in a reelection campaign. To his credit he eventually did come down on the right side, but it was not as fast and clear a choice as many think.

The ancient Spartan army that defeated a Persian army ten times its size at the Battle of Thermopylae was mainly gay. The European armies that have openly gay soldiers seem to have no problems.
