  • People died because of ..."some GOOFY LAWS"... No! People died because you and Blanco didn't know how to answer the call for action! Asshole, you're the MAYOR. You should understand the way the LAW works, the RULES work, how ORGANIZED EFFORTS are supposed to work..... the failure is YOURS!!!! Stop blaming others for YOUR incompetence.

  • never saw so much chocolate float before!!!!

  • this guy is a real piece of shit.

  • THEY HAD LUNCH AND A LONG PRIVATE MEETING, HE MR MAYOR IS THIS WHEN YOU GOT PAID OFF ? IS THIS WHEN YOU GOT YOUR 1 MILLION DOLLARS, KNOWING MOST OF THESE PEOPLE WERENT GOING TO BE FULLY COVERED BY INSURANCES LIKE ALL STATE. THATS WHY YOU SAID IN THE SPIKE LEE VIDEO YOU THOUGHT THE GOV. WAS GOING TO INJECT A NEEDLE IN YOUR ARM ? REALLY FOR ASKING FOR HELP. YOU WERE LOSING IT CAUSE YOUR FOOD RAN LOW AND YOU BITCHED OUT CAUSE YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE GOING DOWN WITH YOUR SHIP CAPTAIN

  • When will we hear Governor Chet Culver say that he wants to rebuild a 'vanilla' Iowa ... because that's what God wants? Where is the hysterical 24/7 media coverage complete with reports of shootings at rescuers, of rapes and murder? How come you will never hear about the Iowa flooding ever again? Where are the gov't. bail out vouchers? The government debit cards?More people died in these floods then from Katrina...how come the media doesn't report that?

  • After Katrina, the media blamed the lack of response on the Bush administration's dislike of black people. Can we then conclude from the lack of media coverage and response by the Obama administration that Obama doesn't like white people?Where are the Hollywood celebrities holding telethons asking for help in restoring Iowa and North Dakota and helping the folks affected by the flood

  • This dude the mayor and the coach for the new orleans hornets lol

  • I still find it funny after all of this no one has learned how to act humane to one and other. And for your info CANADA was the first to respond we had boots on the ground 5 days before fema national guard or us coast guard. It was also president bush who at first rejected aid from canada and other countries so i guess you'll pay attention to who you elect

  • Bush knows the truth.. because he put the pieces of the puzzle together

  • I truly believe this man gives a shit about those lives that were lost and is truly pissed off at the system. He is just the mayor of the city. There is only so much he can do. The true relief comes from the agencies and government. All he can do is knock at their door and beg beg beg for assistance in the manner he (the mayor) sees fit for the ignorant ear. I still think he should have used more foul language to get the message out. I noticed people started listening when they read his mouth.

  • This goes to show you can't depend on anybody to help you.

  • The more I watch this... Bottomline up the so-called system..FAILED!

  • A disgrace - in this day and age - that help wasn't provided at a quicker manner. Someone should still stand trial for this !

  • if he was so worried about his people he would have helped lower income families that could not afford to leave (the vast majority of those left behind) evacuate days before land fall. instead he sat on his ass then blamed the federal government after the fact.

  • isn't this the racist who said, "The white man put bombs on the levy." If a white guy went on TV and said, " A black man put bombs on the levy," the black community would be offended. He does have a right to be pissed, but people should expect more from a Govenor.

  • He certainly does represent everything black racism. Everybody's fault but his own stupid lack of action Blah, Blah Blah

  • FUCK THIS RACIST PIECE OF SHIT> He truly represent black nationalism and Black racism!

  • alll levels; city, state, and federal governement failed. National emergency response, everything failed! People also need to be the blame, dont ever underestimate the wrath of mother nature....

  • Listen to that bitch whining like a kindergartner with a skinned knee. Pity that Lt.-Gen Honore was Army instead of Marines. Nagin needed a beatdown.

LMAO @ the comment "No wonder Bush didn't zip up and put down the porn.

  • Fuck the Frenck....I'ts all Greek to me,sounds like Chineese to me....It's a figure of speach asswipe,NSTFU....YOU STUPID BITCH

  • How did this moron get re-elected? It's HIS fault that people died...his and Blanco's. The people of NO re-elected him...go figure!

  • Nagin couldnt do no more than he was allowed to. People are upset because he spoke out against the Federal Government.

  • Why isn't this asshole in jail?

  • Why should he be in jail?

  • This was a disaster at every level.

    Every level of Government failed.

Of all of them Nagin holds the most responsibility for the deaths in New Orleans.

Nagin was the Mayor of the city. It was his duty to have the city prepared before the storm. No food, no water, no real evacuation plan. We knew for a week this storm was coming. That city could have been evacuated easily. There are hundreds of buses in New Orleans, Nagin could have evacuated thousands with them.

  • Nagin couldnt do no more than he was allowed. He advised the ppl of NO to evacuate, most did not want to because storms haven't been as bad. I dispise ppl who make accusation when the facts lack with their claim.

  • wait wait ...hold on a second you are mayor of a city that is 20 feet below sea level. 20 FEET BELOW SEALEVEL AND A CATEGORY 5 IS COMMING....HELLO?

  • That's a load of rubbish... the only parts on New Orleans that are 20 feet below sea level are roads that go underneath railroads and the bottoms of lakes in New Orleans East!

  • Mayor Nagin didn't call for an evac in time for people to get out.

Then sent people to a facility of last resort without supplies NO food NO water.

The Mayor is the bottom wrung of the FEMA system, they have to report to the state and feds to get help.

Nagin just sat around having a hurrican party then complained about Where Bush at??

  • VOTE for James Perry for Mayor 2010 !!!!!

  • This guy is such a politician w/ his well done fake tired beard, he is just as resp as the state and federal govt, he knew about the levys he should have been prepared before it happened.

  • Part 2: And another thing, it was INEXCUSABLE how long it took US to get our asses down there and help our fellow brothers and sisters. NO EXCUSE!! We give of our time, and billions of dollars to countries overseas who hate our guts!! We should have been POISED AND READY to move in the minute Katrina moved out of the area. I live in a tiny town in Ohio and we had dozens of people go down with their own money, and thousands of us gave water, diapers, groceries, etc.

  • TWC,

I agree with you 100%! I can't blame Mayor Nagin for being so upset! We did not get help to those poor folks in nearly enough time! He's right. We can deploy troops all over the world in a heartbeat, but it took too long for us to get down there and help. One word for the government's response: FAIL!!!

  • @AmITheSameGirl NAGIN DESERVE MOST OF THE BLAME AFTER MICHAEL BROWN. MICHAEL BROWN RESIGNED CAUSE HES AN IDIOT!! NEXT PERSO THAT SHOULD HAVE RESIGNED IS STUPID NAGIN.

  • I am a white 47 year old lady, and I guess I am in the minority when it comes to my feelings about Ray Nagin. I'm sorry, but I think too much blame was placed on this guy. He is only ONE MAN! And I think he did a HELL of a good job getting everybody out for Hurricane Gustav! I actually sat and cried when I saw all those vans and busses and transportation getting people out. I really do think he cares for his city. Give him a break. Can you imagine the immense pressure of his job? God Bless him.

  • I cannot help but think that your not from Louisiana. Nagin is just as corrupt as most politicians.

  • You're right. I'm not from Louisiana. I am from Ohio. I definitely don't know the whole story and I don't know Mayor Nagin. I guess I am pretty soft hearted and gullible sometimes, I just feel sorry for people sometimes when maybe I need to be a little tougher.

  • There are people who deserve to be felt sorry for in my opinion, lol. Just not this guy. I mean, maybe in this situation yes, but other wise, no.

  • I agree with ya there!

    :)

  • I was hoping the city actually would have been obliterated again just so I could hear this ignorant racist bastard say that it was a government plot to wipe out black people - AGAIN.

  • Nagin and the politicians in LA are responsible for the disaster of their cities. I feel deeply for the people down there. Responsibility starts from home, not mainly the federal or other nearby states like texas which was housed thousands of Katrina evacuatee.

  • once an idiot, always an idiot. iraq took WEEKS to organize! so how can this guy make these comparisons?? get a new mayor

  • The word nigger relates to ignorant white people in my good opinion.

The mayor of New Orleans is an honest intelligent man. i just think he is great!

  • the n word doesnt relate to white people, it is a racial slur made by slave owners back over 1 hundred years ago.

although i agree with the honest intelligent man compiment you payed to Nagin, your comment about the N word is highly ignorant you dumb ass fuck.

  • Nagin is a crook he is robbing this city blind! He's gotta go! He's making the city look bad!

  • hey, white trash and niggas don't count...no wonder bush never put the porn mag down and zipped up.

  • People didn't die because of lack of evacuation! People died because of delayed relief, didn't plan on leaving because they didn't think that N. O. was going to get hit! Bottom line those people were left for dead, and that's sad but everyone who was involved will have to answer!

  • More people will leave next time.

  • Ray Nagin is a joke. He and the Governor needed to resign, immediately after Katrina. I understand his passion and I totally agree that bureaucratic red tape needs to go away immediately after a tragic event such as Katrina. However he himself did not take action immediately. The city had no effective evacuation plan. The city which Nagin is responsible failed his people. Time to go away Mr Mayor.

  • Nagin said it best "man, I don't wanna hear any of that." Confirming he doesn't care about facts in addition to his disdain for freedom.

  • Those aren't facts; they're EXCUSES.

Babies died in the superdome while their parents were begging for water.

They were being denied the H20 by BlackWater mercenaries.

The cops commited suicide, surely, because of how torn they were between keeping their jobs and homes and doing what they think is right.

Nothing is more trajic than the man who can't feed his family, killing himself as an answer.

  • Funny how I don't believe you. I'm believe there was a tremendous suicide rate. I also believe that some young babies died from dehydration. I'm absolutely positive however, that those babies didn't die from dehydration in front of security guards hording the water supply or whatever you'd have me believe.

  • I'm going to go find the clip of the black women telling the story.

    I will be back...

  • It was called Scalar Weapons Katrina (EM Weapons) but it isn't available anymore.

I still have the icon on my favorites list, page 10. maybe it's somewhere else on the net? I'll look in other videos until I find it.

I would not seek you out to lie to you, bro.

  • I don't think you would intentionally lie to me(although I guess my last post implied that), I think there is a lot of misinformation about what went down. It was a tragedy no doubt, but I don't believe it was anything more sinister than incompetence. Maybe with a healthy dose of New Orleans corruption thrown in the mix.

  • Too many people died because Mayor Nagin had four days to evacuate New Orleans, not two. I say that is lack of judgement!

  • The worst American disaster in 100 years? I think that Pearl Harbor and 9/11 rank a little higher. What has he done to improve New Orleans? What about some more people in NO getting off their asses and rebuilding instead of waiting on the government to bail them out.

  • go back to your cave you dirty cracker tough on the internet huh Boy. better then a wanna be cowboy -10 IQ president Bush

  • your mother

  • Come on!! you can never fight nature. Try to find something or somebody to blame. The city, the goverment.....you name it! But we all knew that this could happen.....and it will happen again. I live in the Netherlands and we have the same problem as you have. One day the sea will wash us away and than we do the same. But now? You dont hear a thing...just like before Katrina. But we all know about it!! My respect to the Mayor and the people of New Orleans!!

  • The truth of the matter is that all levels of government failed. I do think it's ridiculous that Nagin gets more heat than Blanco. As for abandoning, he never left New Orleans. However, he didn't prepare to evacuate people who couldn't. He didn't have access to school buses because Orleans Parish Public Shcools is backwards as hell. One things is for sure, the real reason people get upset is not about the people of New Orleans. After Katrina, Republican power completely fell apart.

  • Take a good look people. Ray is the definition of incompetence and racism. Complete lack of accountability - it's always somebody else's fault. What do you expect when you drive through a city and you are looking UP at the Ships passing you by?!

  • i know u see how the damn media only cares on trying to pull the bad out of the good hearted people over words they use while being upset, screw the media.......

Nagin did what he could for his city...

  • fuck the politics! help new orleans

  • Abandoned by the state and fedeeral government?

He abandoned it himself. He RAN like a COWARD!!!!!

Nagin knew in advance that the levees were likely to collapse. It was in the New York Times in 2001.

  • that reporter looks like chris hansen and an annoying guy fused together

  • LMAO i agree

  • Nagin may not be experienced, but I believe he tried to do the best he could with what he had to work with. His heart seemed pretty broken.

I don't think it registered that well to people outside of New Orleans just how bad the situation was and how critical it was to act immediately. Sad.

  • Federal aid for New Orleans was held back in order for the government to study exactly what happens when the ocean level rises and floods a major city. Remember, this is what is supposed to happen when global warming comes to it's climax.

  • Lets say that was true which I dont believe for a second it was still Nagin who was the Mayor and failed the citizens 100% and got reelected well they deserve him than.

  • Nagin and Blanco are responsible too.

  • They are completely responcible because if they had evacuated or atleast had some type emergency plan with generators -water-food,etc the people wouldnt have suffered like they did and many lives could have been saved. I rather not have a Mayor or Givernor than have Nagin and Blanco

  • that is 100% correct. These 2 idiots dropped the ball and blamed the federal government. It was all the Presidents fault...bullcrap Ray. Why did you refuse the busses offered to you. You F'ed up and want to blame others.

  • Very informative.
