True story: I was stationed in Japan in 1984 when Vixen played at the enlisted club on the base. This was before they had a record deal and they were already miles ahead of every other band that had played there before. After they played their set, everyone in the band left except for Roxy who stayed drank some beers with us. She was REALLY cool!

@Monica1C3 she fine and sings pretty good. Keep in mind that most of the performances you saw of vixen at so called live events had them singing and playing to a backing track, so this is what they sound like without a backing track.

@EvaSlash Eva, you are right. Vixen was phenomonal, BUT they were still created by the movie studios making chameos in a few movies. The music scene was on the cusp of converting over to alternative music and so the studios simply dumped them. What that meanse is the studios cut the funding to their hotels, promotions, touring budgets, the whole thing. They never made alot of money from their music and they couldnt afford to keep it going.

@EvaSlash Add to what I was saying before, the music scene was forced to chance to alternative so the record companies could keep making money. Keep in mind that hollywood is about making money, its the business end of art. Of course they can still sing and rock, but the music companies cater to the teen to 25 year old crowd and that is why music companies stay in control. Also, the band members of Vixen have families and they dont want to be apart from them.

@EvaSlash there are alot of reasons. first off producers ar ealways looking for the next big movement. When the hippy movement ended, they jumped on producing funk groups, when the funk era ended they grabbed up the disco groups, when disco was played out they backed the punk movement and when punk faded in popularity the producers backed the heavy metal and new wave movement, and then the era of grunge and hip hop began. Producers only car eabout money.

@EvaSlash part 2 of commentary, add to what I said before about the grunge eand hip hop era knocking heavy metal out of existence, and in addition that vixen was an all girl heavy metal group which not only pigeon holed them but isolated them from their male heavy metal counter parts. iin other words they were considered too soft to allow to make new albums, they made one or two more, but they were considered to hardrock to be adopted into the grunge era and too soft to be in heavy metal.
