I wonder if the children had been younger at the time of the massacre if that would have somehow saved them. Many movies portray them as being young children when they were all nearly grown, except Nastia and Alyosha. Maybe the firing squard wouldn't have been able to kill young children.
Mashka looks like Drew Barrymore at 4:18. This is lovely, Maria is favorite:)
England offered to take them...but the children were sick and during the time everyone was waiting for them to recover, England lost its nerve, got cold feet and took back the offer. They should have moved them even if they were sick! Those ten or so days was the window.
Maria is my favourite and I am writing a novel about her where she escapes to England and lives for another 80 years. like it should have been for all of them. None of them deserved to die.

I would be grateful if you could say was it Lloyd-George or George V first said the imperial family could stay in England and then one of them refused. So history books say one or the other? it can be confussing? Although YES % not & children were shot. thank you DiamantaBralova.
@drwho5004 They did at first offer refuge in England. However, the English people began to complain which made George V change his mind and refuse to save the Russian Imperial family. Also, Kerensky never wanted the Romanovs in England.
Only 5 children were killed, the other two were the parents and there were also four servants. To England? They were Russian Imperial family. England and France refused to take them in, and they loved their country so they wanted to stay there no matter what.
