  • prefer insomnia ;)

  • 3 people prefer Mozart :/

  • The first 2 minutes of the song are the best!

  • I danced with Lindy Layton in the basement at the Smithfield Tavern in Farringdon, London, the night a little known DJ called Fatboy Slim played in August 1997. Fact :D This was the song I actually asked Norman to play before he was on. He didn't have it, but he began his set with his remix of Elegantly Wasted by INXS and ended it with Cream by Prince. Awesome night, especially having my shoes searched for ecstasy pills all because I was standing in the corner counting my money...

  • so simple and so fucking great

  • whoa, one of the melodies is also in Love Island by him

  • YESS!! Amazing to see that in an age where super talented people come together to form bands and struggle to survive, one man like this can make magic!

  • great song but what is the name of the oldskool song that had the piano melody and the sample from let there be house? (I got the song on a mix but cant find the original) ;)

  • love those gummy bears.

  • This is FBS'NO.1 danceable track!

  • What does it matter this song wasnt on the greatest hits CD. You shoudnt buy a greatest hits CD of Fatboy Slim, because all his stuff is great. So you should get all the albums!! :D :D :D

  • my name is lindy :)

  • the earlier sample, the guitar, is Stevie Wonders "Higher Ground" covered by Ellen McIlwaine, classic cover check it out

  • starting at 1:30... just flying away... in the space ... Jesus, what a song! I remember it from my childhood... Best of chillout music!

Listen to loops for lindy, good remix ...

  • gotta eat that jelly bearz :D

  • question:

theres a Ratpack track from the 90s but earlier than this tune and has the same melody and piano like Song for lindy?

anyone knows whats the name of the tune?

ive just found it in one oldschool piano mix and it lasts for about a minute

i cant find it on youtube

  • @TheDerpe:

    Better Days by Jimi Polo?

  • @TheDerpe Hey Derpe, are you thinking of Captain of the Ship? It has a similar piano melody.

  • Aww. Cute little jelly bears 8) AWW.

    lol. AWESOME SONG!!!

  • one of his the best track

  • old skhooooolll me thinks luv it......

  • IDKwhy but thsi reminds me tekken 3 from start.

  • Great drums!

  • @MojeTuba72 thats why this genre is caller big beat. :D

  • LO FI FNK!.Listen to Lo-Fi-Fnk :) it has the piano of this in it

  • Nice track

  • I remeber this melody from Slipmatt - SMD#1

  • This piano melody was used in milion tracks in 90s and it is great :D

  • What's that picture supposed to be... nice song though!

  • @98mrdj

    gummy bears :) I think...

  • The Piano is sampled from "40 miles" By congress!

  • This song is awesome. But the volume is kinda screwed up in the beginning.

  • brought this album when I was 10 years old, played it on my song walkman and it blew my fucking mind. FATBOY SLIM IS FUCKING IN HEAVEN!!

  • That 10 seconds of music starting at :47 blows my fucking miiiind.

  • same

  • @BleedingOne Then you should listen to watch?v=BkJPKt6bzaM

  • One of the bast songs i've ever heard

  • yeeeeeeah fatboy !

  • can this count as Fatboy Slim's first song? [not norman's]

  • why I can just add this one time to favourites? FUCK ITS INSANE

  • hammer geil!

  • i love when the funky baseline comes in....

  • Takes me back to my ol raving days...

  • Isn't the piano riff from this song just a cut up of "40 Miles" by Congress. It's very good sampling though.

  • ya jimi polo better days, congress 40 miles and piano man blurred - awsome piano

  • Yes, that is the same riff, but the song you mentioned actually sampled it from another song called "Better Days" by Jimi Polo and Fatboy Slim sampled it from that version as did Congress. Those are both amazing songs as well as "Song for Lindy". Be sure to check out "Better Days" and the Sasha Remix of "Better Days" both from 1989!!

  • He didn't sample Congress, but the song Congress sampled: "Better Days" by Jimi Polo.

  • Fuck mozart this is genius

  • haha, exactly.

  • 1)fatboyslim is one of the few artist i like every song from

2)there´s a nice remake of this song from the band "lo-fi-fnk" from sweden i think i don´t know if it´s a officiel remake or if they just used the synth-line because they liked it ...but it´s a nice song

3)piano-part from insomnia? i don´t want to fight, but i have to disagree ..(the same rhytmic pattern that´s right and i ´never realized before comparing. but the chords are different ..but insomnia is a killer song too ;)

  • One of his best songs ever!!!

  • Was this for Lindy Layton ?

  • who made a remix of this with lyrics recently?

  • The piano song is main based on the song named insomnia Remember?:p

  • hey....you're right....I just listened to insomnia piano and in the same time I listened to this and it is the same!!

  • its not, completely different notes. Same rhythm.

  • @Ellunino wrong, I'm pretty sure the sample is originally from Jimi Polo- Better Days, the riff has also been sampled in Pianoman-Blurred and Congress- 40 miles and many other old skool tunes.

All those tunes are on youtube if you want to listen for yourself

    FYI ;)

  • @Ellunino i thought it was 'congress'...

  • fantastic track - OH YEAH BABY OH YEAH

  • I can't beleive this was in the greatest hits and slah dot dash was.

  • slash dot dash is popular(or more mainstream)....my version of your comment is: I can't believe, that this track wasn't on the Greatest Hits

  • Wasn't. That's what I meant

  • @MumlaX YES I SO AGREE! I know this song and when i looked at the album I was confused.

  • @MumlaX slash dot dash really sucks man..

  • I need to know where the piano rift @ 1.35 is from? Oldschool classic.

    Please message me or reply.

    Thanks

  • I think the piano riff is originally from 'Better Days' by Jimi Polo.

  • the piano was used in 'Congress - 40 miles' too

  • anybody knows, where the guitar originaly comes from? on czech republic's best radio-Radio 1-they told it, but I forgot to write it and now I don't know even

  • The slide guitar riff (that starts at 0:48) is from Ellen McIlwaine's cover of 'Higher Ground', originally by Stevie Wonder.

  • thx very much

  • this is the mix up equivalent for fatboy slim. oh how i heart this song

  • yeah!

  • I love love love this song.

  • me too :-D
