  • that's a lot yen for an hour tattoo

  • amazing work !!!! in Europe HORIGAB (Tebori work) exist too... it's old student of Hagahachi Master during 6 years ! Horigab life in France (marseille). great work...... respect; GJ100

  • Had my half sleeve chest panel finished last year in Ikebukuro Tokyo. Great experience. Both arms took about 27hrs each, outline by machine the rest by hand. There are many great traditional artists in Japan!! charge is 10,000 y per hour

  • Oh my lord, you are so fortunate!

  • @cxbra Thank You !!

  • Looks fucking good dude, no Tebori guys I know of state side sadly

  • Tabori, could you please tell me what a traditional tattoo like this costs?

And was it done in 1 or multiple sessions?

  • @ValAktaion Ryugen charges 15,000 yen an hour. You can do the conversion from yen to dollars online. My arms took 27 hours each for a 7/10th sleeve. I did three hours a day for nine days straight. One trip for each arm.

  • @TaboriTattoo so pretty much 5,100 dollars/arm. Not to bad for that masterpeice considering a full arm sleeve would cost 1000 more in the states but obviously not a tabori.

  • This is a fuckin beautiful tattoo. The Japanese do the best colour tattoos.

  • it looks like that is all done free hand? no stencil at all? am i correct? and also i was curious as to the pain of this method lol i mean pain has never been an issue in my other artwork but this just seems so...medieval, for lack of a better word, lol. I would love to know some more details so please hit me back! Beautiful piece man

  • @bananasack28 Yes, it was done freehand. He didn't use a stencil at all, the outline was by hand and of course also was the Tebori. Well it sure didn't feel good, its tolerable, but at least double what the machine feels like to me, but pain is subjective. If you have handled it well before this should be no problem. Its not medieval, its traditional :)

    Thanks !

  • @TaboriTattoo Alright :) yeah i mean this is as traditional as one can get haha beautiful artwork though. i have a koi 3/4 sleeve myself and it is similar to this but i mean the attention to detail and the time that goes into what you went through is just so incredible. you have an awesome piece there man, im truly jealous lol

  • @bananasack28 Thank you !..He is an amazing craftsman...

  • ouch

  • Amazing tattoo you got there bro, wish I could fly to Japan right now and get it done...

Does anyone have experience with this Tebori style vs the modern machine stuff? Wonder if the Tebori style make the tattoo last longer, especially when there is color involed.

  • @jaymie8266 Thank you !

I can tell you, from what I have seen in person it looks totally different than machine work years later. Mine is almost three years old and looks identical to the day I got it. Ryugen's arms are done this way and his look very clear and distinct.

  • Beautiful Tattoo man. Now that you have had it for a few years, do you still enjoy it? Any regrets?

  • @Isatsujinken No way....NO regrets at all, its years later and still looks like it was done a week ago. Tebori is amazing...

  • @Isatsujinken Not only do I have no regrets, I am going back for more work.

  • @TaboriTattoo

Very cool TaboriTattoo, Please put up the video when you get it done. Also, are you going back to the same artist? I've been looking hard at Asian based sleeves for a while now, thinking about a year out from now and am looking for the right artist.

  • how much was it?

  • @ys1337 Email me and I can give you exact numbers. But it was just about the same as stateside pricing, just keep in mind its almost three times as long for the amount of work...

  • I'm getting a full back piece done by him right now, Ryugen-san is the best!

  • does this hurt?

  • @sondano Yes....it really does hurt. Much worse than a machine tattoo.

  • i'll have to go to japan to get a tatoo they are freking awesome

  • that's a wonderfull tebori work man..gratz!! i want to put a tebori design on my left arm with ryugen..i found his site..but i dont know what i have to do after to contact him...i appreciate it if you give some info...

  • Man I'm glad I saw this video. I actually found his site a few months ago and loved this piece, great to see it in action!

  • @xjbeau Thank you ! I am glad you liked it...He is an amazing artist...

  • Researching Tebori for my apprenticeship, so thanks for great upload!

Looks painful from where I'm sitting, looks fantastic though!

  • wow, love it!

  • this is beautiful

  • Thanks for the reply mate. I ear about Ryugen before, is a nice, cool new generation Horishin..

One more question dude, how much it takes to do a sleeve using the traditional methods? Not considering the cost but the time/number of sessions..

  • He's a very cool cat, and amazing in his skill. He laid the design down freehand with a sharpie !

This 7/10th sleeve took 27 hours. I sat for 3-4 hours every day for 9 days straight. Interesting experience.

  • Who is the artist?

  • Ryugen san in Japan
