I am just lost for words , just amazing , I really hope to see your group preform someday. I saw your show on HD- NET & recorded it, then I went to U- Tube & I just LOVE IT. You guys & gals are Gr8.
@fiddlestixgirl24 The BLACK AND WHITE is a favorite of mine too! The only thing I don't like is the fact I can't get my fingers to play those arpeggiated sixteenth notes in the second and last strains! It's still a fun one to play, though!
They are all so talented it makes one think us other players will never get there, just stay in the closet and hope 'one day' !!! really enjoyed it all, particularly the ragtime & novelty act.
Awesome guys! Love how you put this together; Euday Bowman's 12th Street Rag, Scott Joplin's Maple Leaf Rag, and George Botsford's all-famour Black and White Rag. Lovely job!
@gabbyfromTX You know what would be interesting, is if they layered George Botsford's "Black and White" with Winifred Atwell's "Black and White". Some sections wouldn't line up exactly, but I'm sure they can make it work. :)
Yup, Morigue is correct. It also keeps the stage volume level down. The monitors don't have to be turned up to hear over the kit. And it also keeps the the audience spill to a minimum. Imagine the front couple rows of seats, with that kick drum thumping at them. I wonder if Junior was doing sound that night. lol
HOLY WOW!! Their fingers look like their on fire. I've seen these guys live 9 times and met them every time after the show. They are amazing. If you missed them in your area the last time they were there my advice for the next time their in town is simple...GO SEE THEM!!
The first piece was "12th St Rag" written by Euday L Bowman; the next was "Maple Leaf Rag" by Scott Joplin; the last was "Black & White Rag" by George Botsford. Vess L Ossman was a wonderful banjo player but did not write any of the tunes played on this video.
how can anyone dislike this?

Although the key change at about 1:50 got the biggest applause, I think the change at about 1:18 was more impressive. Just an awesome performance!

Why do they put the drummer in that cage?
Distrigor 2 years ago
It acts as a sound baffle so that the acoustic instrument mics/pickups don't pick up the drum kit.

Erin;s original electronic piano was a yamaha p200. Agnes's Keyboard is or was a Yamaha X5...I think.
