@981smithy cheers. Several carriages in the Royal Train actually originated from the prototype High Speed Train, which makes this all the more interesting.
Superb filming there given the weather - thanks for sharing! Very much enjoyed. I particularly liked the zoom as Britannia approached, getting the nicely framed view of the loco, train, and steam. Lovely job!
@ConwyCastle Thanks for taking the time to watch Sheldon, it was a bit awkward only using one hand to pan and zoom back but it was well worth it to see the Brit on The Copy Pit line.
Great footage as always Phil and very atmospheric with the Brit in great form and driver taking no chances with sanding gear operating. I must say you have great endurance capabilities, that rain sounded horrendous! Even worse than I got last week at Barassie!! Thanks for sharing it. Ken
What a beautiful and awe-inspring little video! I've takne the liberyt of capturing a few still from it to send to my fellow steam nuts over the globe, as well as the vid, of course. How evocative the scenery is - and great to see a real steamer doing what it was made to do. Thank you SOOO much!
So! Even royalty likes a bit of steam now and again :) Well, there was caertainly a whole lot of smoke and steam as the train passed your video point. Thanks for sharing this awesome event, it was most enjoyable, Phil. :D
@Monopodmansdad Thanks Mark, to see such a splendid locomotive so near to home and on the mainline was a privilege and I think not one we will get too often.
Phil, Great capture and nice to the Brit back in green livery with the nameplates applied. Thanks for sharing and enduring the awful weather conditions. Regards, John
@molzips Many thanks John for watching, today was one of those runs you just had to get out and get a bit like when Tangmere was on its test run last year a must do!!
@Deantwerpen And so much safer that travelng by car, and greener than plane or helicopter, neither of which would be much use in the prevailing conditions.
This is a powerful shot and the dreadful weather only adds to the scene. Thank you for getting out and doing what you are so good at Phil. Regards Dale
@acw71000 Thanks for watching Austin, our two videos could easily be edited together with our choices of locations and it was nice to witness the Brit climbing up to the summit despite the rain.
Great clip in miserable conditions Phil. Had thought of going across to Copy Pit, but stopped at Pleasington where the weather was a little kinder but in poor light
1:09 - They must have forgotten to fix the fourth headlamp on top of the smokebox door, to complete the 'Royal' headcode! (Doesn't it usually have four headlamps?) XD
Lovely capture , the rainswept landscape added an extra "element" to the shot (pun intended! ) . Nice surprise to see the old girl "dressed up proper" resplendent with nameplates again.
