@randomtwit If an instrument doesn't feel good in your hands you should not buy it, if you prefer a certain finish then you should get a guitar that has it.As with most things in life, it's the ability of the person that counts, the CV Strat with a good amp will sound great, if it doesn't, maybe it's the guy playing it.
@ralfcaetano This guitar is a as good or better than a lot of american strats,If you are going to keep it for a long time and want a humbucker in it, I would say yes it's worth it.Once you modify it I think it might lower resale value. Also if you put a humbucker you will have to change the pots.
Hi again tbdalva- dude I need to ask- what kind and type of (hot) glue was it? I might give that a try myself :) Also did you take the block out and clamp it together?
@TheStratplayer1 I made a video of it, it's called 'Strat Block', check it out.The hot glue makes it easy to remove if you don't like it and it's very cheap.Let me know how that works out for you.
@tbdalva Thanks very much dude- found the Video easy as- it works fine for me and I am playing a CV 50's Olympic White with Gold anodized plate through an all Valve high gain Jetcity 2112RC Combo sounds really sweet- maybe need a bit more headroom for more cleaner sound- have got a fix for that too lol Am gonna replace the12AX7 in V1 for a 12AT7 Tube - it will give me more volume on the clean tone and still rock with the gain up high. Thank you for the Video and Tremolo tips u rock!
@tbdalva The 12AT7 valve mod gives me more clean headroom and I also use an RC Booster for 25 DB of clean Boost which works fine. I am also going to try a Fat booster (Wampler or Exotic) as this has 35 DB (10 db more of clean Boost) hope that helps- good luck Phil
Hello! Nice playing very pretty tones and those guitar harmonics really sing... reminiscent of Allman bros Jessica and those sweeter sounding Strats. The tone is a nice warm valve sound. I have watched all the You Tube videos on this particular guitar and found that- 3 guys (out of 25) who either blocked the Tremelo or changed the block for a solid steel one- all get the same sweet, melodic, tones that you do... thank you for the demo- Love it!
@TheStratplayer1 Thanks, I used that red amp that appears at the end of the video, it's homemade from old organ parts (el84 power tubes) added reverb at mixdown.Yeah the piece of Iron I glued to the block made a difference and it was free.Check out my Classic Vibe Telecaster review.
@tbdalva awesome boutique amp for a fraction of the price- handwired and handbuilt with a lot of TLC those old organs had a nice warm sound tube sound so- great starting point sounds way Kool!

@Rozq87 Thanks, the only thing I did was hot glue a piece of Iron to the skinny tremolo block, I though the stock one did not have enough mass and made the sound kind of mushy, the added Iron made it sound more defined.
lovely guitar and tone. What more can you ask for tbh - a guitar of this aesthetic character and musical ability for such a good price. wish i could have one.
people are always raving over 'old' guitars, but these guitars are a testimony to the positive side of technology, there was nothing like this out in the 70's, you either had crap or the real deal, now we get a great great alternative.......

@TheStratplayer1 I just picked up the same Jet City amp and have been trying a few mods to get more headroom.

@tbdalva hi again dude I meant to ask you- is your bridge/block floating? Or is it hard up against the body? Thank you Phil
TheStratplayer1 1 year ago
@TheStratplayer1 Floating, I like the base plate about 1/16" above the body because it gives the bar a better feel.

Did you have any issues with it? Or was it just great to go out of the box?
Awesome playing by the way!
Cheers.
