@kimmik83843 tl;dr version: Although you may want to covet your childhood for as long as you can, there always comes a time where you'll have to give it up. A "loss of innocence", if you will. This doesn't however mean that you will never find it again. The final scene of this film that I never completed had the main character finding his balloon again as an old man, when he'd learned more about the world around him and found his place in it.

I think this film means...

that there are things in life that stay with us. happiness, sadness, hurt, love, peace, war. we hold onto them, and they hold onto us. but there's always one day in someone's life that all the things we hold... they have to float away, and be let free. so that other people in the world can see them and feel them, and so that we can grab onto new things, letting them help us grow and learn.

I love this so much. I've always been a huge fan of your's! As for my interpretation of the fillm, I think it's all about growing up. We want to grow up but at the same time we want to remain children and have people take care of us. It's a hard decision to make and once we do grow up, we won't be children anymore.

Woow. Just wow. This video is incredible! The quality is amazing, the flow is perfect, and the song just FITS. Seamless. Flawless. Technically incredible! And then the story really got to me, too. I'm not sure if this is what you were intending, but I saw the balloon as a representation of the boy's childhood, maybe his innocence or the idealism of childish dreams (something to that effect). He's loathe to let it go, sad to see it fly away, but in the end he sees it as something that must be

I think the balloon symbolizes some longing desire that he can't have, or shouldn't have. He see's other people with their desires and everyone has different things they desire, and when he holds the balloon he gets the desire, but it's not something he should feel. When the others are laughing at him, it symbolizes how people react to other people when they want something that to them seems stupid or pointless. letting go symbolizes losing this bad desire and coming to realize that you shouldn

This is amazing. My interpretation of this is that all of us have our childhood with us. The memories annoy us at times, and when we let them out we're shunned. But they will always be with us. Eventually we have to let go, and it may make us feel sad to watch our childhood slip away. But it will always be within us, and once we accept it we can move on to greater things. Beautifully done, Alli. You have a tremendous talent for directing.

Which lens(es) did you use? Besides some of the shakiness, the video was pretty solid! But be careful with continuity. In one shot the ballon is on his right, and in some it's on his left. Doing this. Breaks the illusion of the reality. (Yes, me being a current film major I pay attention to this stuff).

I've still held onto my balloon. When I was little I wanted to be an artist, and I still want to be. There were times were I doubted my abilities, but I kept my dream just in case.

The balloons possibly represent childghood dreams or hopes. They are invariably attached to you for a long while, yet have a distinct sense of unreality to them, as if they go higher then you possibly could. Holding onto them directly makes you feel young again, but rids them on that fantasy-like wonder. As you get older, they aren't so much attached to you as you are the one holding onto them; and eventually you may willin let them go, as chasing them can waste your real, non-dream life.

I think the balloons symbolize insecurity. How we stay in our comfort zones our whole life for fear of being humiliated or told we're not good enough, but eventually you have to let all of that go and be yourself and live life.

It's about letting go of childish things. Those who carry their "balloons" still keep a light grasp on their childhood and immaturity, but when you release it it's like "growing up". When he actually grabs the balloon the memories all come back and he feel kid again, but as soon as he lets go he looses the grasp of it a little until finally letting go and maturing.
