Just saw online Iams is recalling contaminated pet food. My cat has been sick, lost a lot of weight, loss of appetite, lethargic,vomiting, etc. She was doing better and starting to have an appetite. I feed her the Iams dry food yesterday,she is sick again.Don't know if it's the food, she'selderly,but after checking I learned that Iams is asking food to be tossed as one of their plants produced contaminated food. I've had it with these greedy pet food companies! I'll make her food from now on.

Apologies in advance for any insult, that is non intended. I genuinely don't see any problem with this video. I see female dogs being neutered, and ensuring they can breathe properly, put into a safe area to also ensure they wake up well. No testing of foods, or cruelty or abuse. I agree with eileenbunny. They're kept in kennels, as they would be in any shelter...I fail to see any connection with IAMS or pet cruelty in this...........

well if you have a dog you can buy bil jac food only at petsmart and i used to feed my two dogs iams but we got a free sample pf bil jac and the loved it! im not sure if they make a cat food but dogs will live bil jac

One error: They knew longer than a month before the announcement. Public reports I've seen state that they knew in Sept./Oct. of '06. The first shipment of tainted food supposedly went on store shelves late Sept., early Oct. This was a new product in the manufacturing process from the supplier. Why was there no quality check and spot check?

Iams has tried to stop a PETA video of its cruelty from being shown. I dislike PETAs tactics at many times, as I think they go too far and I can't let my kids see some things they do, and I don't like their attitude to your questioning their tactics. However, sorry to say, but the reports are real. I can't verify that this exact one is, but trust me, some are that are just like this. BTW, veterinary food is not safe. Vet food was included in the poisoning. I lost both persians. Very heartbroken

What is going on here? I'm searching on youtube for pet food recipes for my cat. I find this film. My God! I'm so shocked and horrified by what I'm seeing here. To think I feed my cats Iams thinking it was good for them as my local vets endorse this product. I'm going to show them this video. I've been researched and disturbed by things like this too. Some recommended pet food are Harmony Farms, Halo, Holistic Blend, Paul newman's and Old Mother Hubbard, these companies do no or non harmful animal testing and have no class actions, and low or no recall history, also no artificial preservatives that could cause cancer. I recommend switching to one of these, they have good meat sources too so no icky things!

You said you were looking for answers...I know some dog food that has no class actions, low or no recall history and do no or nonharmful animal testing and are not connected to pet deaths: Paul Newman's, Halo (Highly recommended has helped many dogs with health problems), Old Mother Hubbard, Life's Abundance. I don't think i'll protest, but I will certainly discourage people from buying it If they ask me, and I will not buy it myself. Iams is crap anyways. I feed my dog's California natural brand kibble and healthy snacks like yogurt,chicken jerky,raw eggs,and pieces of carrot and apple. Educate yourselves as to what you feed your animals. Most commercial pet foods are not good for your animals. Only use foods that contain human grade ingredients. Google the subject, and learn 'the truth about pet foods'. There is a site called that, and it's very good.
