  • i have a Great Dane named Shady and my sister has a Doberman, both AKC registered. And I was just wondering if you/ya'll docked the Dane's tail. But none the less, 2 beautiful dogs.

  • try tyre

  • i think it's so stupid when people say.... how cruel you had it's ears cut..and then you go and stuff yourself at macdonalds..or have your male cat mutured.

  • @symba hahahahah.......i hate mcdonalds

  • @symba Well its just to help overpopulation of pets because so many pets have been abanded and abused so getting them nutered is a good thing in the long run.

  • @symba The point is nuturing a cat is sometimes essential. And the mcdonalds comment was just retarded lol.

The point is, that docking the ears is purely for show, docking CAN (and often does) put the dog in unecessary pain purely for the vanity of the owner.

  • I hate when people handicap their dogs. Snipping the balls is ok, but the cosmetic ear cropping and tail cutting is just not called for. I would never do anything to my dog that's not remotely beneficial

  • @Tamayo1980 dd you seriously just say "Snipping the balls" hehehehehe

  • @ummhmmlies lol i know.

  • @Tamayo1980 YOUr a hypocrit than! Neutering the dogs affects the HORMONES!! NOt to mention the metabolic rate, hence why fixed males put on weight! Removing a little excess skin on the ear is much less abrasive! ANd it is benefical the ears muscles can move the ears much more efficiently and hearing is enhanced! Fixing doesn't better the sense jus prevents unplanned puppies! So hate all your want but ear cropping also prevent nasty stinky ear infections as well so ya its beneficial!

  • @nikigurl08 During the next six months I got letters for the shelter saying “if I don’t get my dog cut” they will come and get him. Months went by and I had not done it; when he turned 1year an 4months I finally did it because I knew then I was keeping my dog so I had to follow their rules because he may possible end up in the hand of someone who would leave him on a chin outside in the winters. At least I save a dog instead of paying thousands of dollars for one. who the hypocrite now?

  • @Tamayo1980 Well good for you!! You think your superior because you bought a mutt from the pound! At least my dog was a planned litter and the puppies were wanted. And btw the way I've taken in dogs that no one wanted, and turned them into dogs that ppl wanted to buy off me! Of course I kept them tho cuz they were my pets. And btw dogs that have cropped ears are much more likely to get adopted!!

  • @Tamayo1980 And good for you but maybe you shouldn't have gotten the dog in the first place if you were gonna take so long to get it fixed! The reason there are so many unwanted dogs is because ppl are lazy about gettin their dogs fixed which case they just mate w w/e and that mean ulgy puppies a lot of the times. WHich isn't fair to the puppies that aren't planned!!

  • @nikigurl08 U are a funking dumb blond aren't you? i waited as long as i did because i planned on not getting him fixed, but i had to get a 6foot fence or prove he was going to be a breeding dog. ppl are lazy and dogs judge the "beauty" of other dogs along with unplanned pregnancies is the reason y their are so many unwanted dogs? lol puppies that aren't planned. Didn't know their are puppy planning agencies; i wonder if the dogs have to sit through berthing sessions as well?

  • @Tamayo1980 Im dumb because I dont know all about yur personal life and decisions you make! Since when can anyone mind read! AND you took that and made that into something retarded. BUT LET ME GO INTO DETAIL WHAT I MEANT!! Unplanned as in the person had no intentions of breeding their dog, but it happened anyways!! And planned as in a person who breeds intentionally two certain dogs to get puppies around a certain time frame.

  • @nikigurl08 lol beneficial and efficient to point their ears in an unnatural way how is that? when did the dogs tell you or any human this? i would call you names, but i am not going to lower myself to beneath you level. Getting my dog neutered was far from a choice I had to make. I saved my dog from the pound and in the deal, i had to ensure he was neutered on a set date ( one he became 6 months) I act waited because i did not wanted to do that to my puppy and if i did i wanted him to be older

  • @Tamayo1980 Since when is floppy ears natural? Floppy ears are MAN MADE!! If you look at any wild dog they have errect ears as their more efficient! And ear infection are common in dogs that have big floppy ears and that is a prove fact!! They dont get a lot of air flow and the extra leather that HOLDs the ears down blocks sounds waves which damp hearing. We just gave bak what man took away, now his ear muscle arent weigh down and can move much quicker.

  • looks like a cane corso not a great dane!

  • it's a great dane

  • @NFurious

Cane coros dont look like that..... there much heavier and have bigger more jowley heads, and thicker tails, shorter legs.

  • wow, i love dobies but the great dane is like a huge doberman, i have to get one

  • man i have a great pack i have a red nose pit and a bullmastiff but i have a pug also but for some odd reason he has my pit and mastiff in check

  • my partner got me a 3year old great dane .. but my 7mnth old dobie (at the time) did not approve .. LOL

  • Man, that doberman looks like a chihuahua next to the Great Dane.

  • i have wonderful adorable lil dobie, but i would loooooooooooooooooooove to have a great dane, i have a thing for big feirce lookin dogs, lol, but they are so sweet!

  • two of my favorite breeds

  • Where would you get a Great Dane with a dock tail? Its looks sweet!

  • I looks as if this Danes tail has been accidentally damaged and therefore docked for a medical reason. In reality no reputable breeder will dock a Dane. It's against breed standard.

  • @nikigurl08

u do it yourself.. you dont "get it" anywhere

  • lmao "incredible tire"

  • tail docking looks nice so shut fuck up but it banned so no one can it do it no anyway it ant legal

  • Yeah thats not a well bred Great Dane.Thats a Cane Corso. Look that dog up and he looks like a skinny young version of a corso. No offense to the person who posted this esp. if your the owner of the 'Dane'. I do apologize if I'm wrong and am not trying to start anything but if you put those 2 together you'll see it.

  • Wow.

I haven't a clue on who to bet on as the stronger dog. German breeds are ridiculously powerful.

Beautiful dogs, by the way. This is the first time I've been a Great Dane with a docked tail.

  • BTW tail docking is not breed standard for Danes, this is the first I had ever seen someone do that, although it would be nice sometimes, their tail is right at crotch level, and they mean business when they swing it.

  • hahaha that's too funny : D

  • wtf are you talking about? its part of the breed standard to dock and crop. without it you are not truly preserving the breed. you are just dumming it down so people so obsessed over political correctness wont have a bitch fit over nothing.

  • For Dobermanns, yes. Danes are only cropped.

  • i dont agree with tail docking, its just fucking ridiculous!

  • Dude your obviously ignorant to the fact these types of dogs have such long tail they end up breaking them. But that okay the dog should have a really long tail so it bust it up itself. REAL BRIGHT!

  • lol looks like the dane isnt even trying

  • Neither of them are "trying."

Interesting video... ironic, because one of the "ingredients" that went into the development of the dobermann is the blue dane... the exact variety of dane in the video!

Very cool to see them together!

  • y is your great danes tail croped??just woundering

  • This is exactly like my Dane and my friend's Dobe. They're best friends, and both are males. This is such a cute video.

  • that great dane can really tea bag!!

  • your sick

  • thay are ok with kids but not if they are guard dogs

  • very rare combination! :)

  • How are Dobes with Kids?

  • early socialization helps...

  • As greekgod17m said, early socialization is a must. My guy is great with my son and daughter. And any kids for that matter.

  • I grew up with dobes around me, and there has never ever been a problem. The dobes have always been gentle towards me and my brothers(tho the dobes were there first).

  • The ears are done prior to a certain age in which the blood vessels and nerve endings have not moved to the ends of the ears. My Dobe had his done and the very next day was rolling around on the ground and playing with three other large dogs with no pain whatsoever. The Doberman Pinscher was bred by a door to door tax collector who needed protection, the idea was a dog that could not be grabbed by someone trying to fight it, hence the short ears, tail, short coat, and tight body.

  • docking of the tail and cropping of the ears is not cruel.Keeping a working dog as a pet with no job is cruel.keeping a dog over weight is cruel.yet that happens everyday

  • le dogue allemand a plus de force!!!

  • why is the great danes tail docked?

  • good question

  • and the ears thats just fucking cruel

  • Ya you must be a liberal assclown that nows fuck all about the breeds.

  • My nans been breeding great danes since before your parents were born ya dickhead, And im a veterinarian who owns a great dane so before you criticize someone go and check their profile first you dick.

  • I'm not sure I would take my pet to an "upstanding" vet who talks like this on a petty website called youtube... you waste your time arguing on here, surely you've learned that much. Either way, I don't think either is cruel, at least the dogs look well taken care of.

  • On a different note dude, you have a video of someone filling a fish with explosives and blowing it up still alive... umm, you're worried about cropped ears and docked tails.

  • Hey Link, fuck off pussy. Are you circumsized you homo lib?? Better a dogs ears or tail than someones dick, right?

  • Why? just asking

  • They do it because it supposedly helps prevent ear infections, many people including myself consider it to be cruel. How would it feel to have your ears cut off is an easy way to put it.

  • Well a dogs ears and a humans ears are very different in structure and obviously this dog is happy so I see nothing wrong with it.

  • It actually wouldn't be that bad. In fact, it's no different than circumcision. Get a fucking life.
