  • frank oz (the voice of yoda) as the brain surgeon.

  • In latinamerica, in my country Ecuador, I always tought these scenes were the normal ones in the movies... Now I realize they were added for TV broadcasts...

  • this was never in the 2006 DVD anthology of superman only from what i remember bc i saw the superman III & IV Tv cut deleted extended scenes on TBS Superstation only the first 20 minutes uptill i think when lana attempts to reach clack but he's not at the office with the phone ringing thats how far the superman III 2006 edition US Edition went

  • LMAO. Oh my God. Was that me.

  • how can people diss Superman III?

Full of some classic comedy moments like this!

  • Blackout, Blackout, Blackout.

  • Threre was a small clip also on the tv edit when Brad is on the cart and thrown into the elevator, a lady in the elevator looks at him and says, NO WONDER THEY SENT HIM BACK.

  • The brain surgery looks more like they are preforming a post-mortem and probably why it got edit out in theatrical version.

  • 'Rickys lips dont move'...that wasnt Ricky, it was a little girl also on the subway...

  • In some TV versions the Surgery scene is left in and some it's left out. It's not really a deleted scene

  • You're right. My grandfather recorded this on VHS from Showtime back in 1984. On his copy the surgery scene was left out. On the one I recorded, it was included. I guess it all depends on where you've seen this movie.

  • you notice that little rickys mouth isn't moving at the end to where he says "turn the lights on".... heheheheheh, biggest movie mistake.....lol

  • that doctor was Frank Oz, the voice of kermit.

  • No Frank Oz Did The Voice Of Miss Piggy And Fozzie Bear And Animal And Yoda From Star Wars Saga And Fungus From Monsters INC

  • Ive never noticed that before. That's got be Frank Oz hahahahahah I just thought of it then looked down here

  • It was Jim Henson who provided the voice of Kermit.

  • Ricky's lips don't move when he's asking his mum what's happening lol. No wonder this film has such a bad rep...

  • WERE ALL GONNA DIE RICKY!! FORGET THE GODDAMN ZOO!!! (slaps Ricky) GET A HOLD OF YOURSELF!!

  • lmao

  • why did people trip out when the lights went out on the subway........that shit happens all the time.

  • No one recalls the days when the NY subway hits a third rail gap and the lights go out. Funny how the scene with the train approaching was ripped from the Taking of Pelham 123.

    PJ77

  • That's what i thought too XD

  • This is from the t.v. version. I'm not sure why they cut these things out?

  • the patient being operated on resembles james tolkan aka for such roles as principal strickland hands down to the classic trilogy of back to the future& Lt lubick from the he-man movie masters of the universe

ps can you post more deleted scenes that didn't make the 2006 superman III Special edition i'd like to see the extended computer fight with superman and the old lady in the elevator after what happened to brad no wonder they sent it back thanks if you can upload thanks

  • And the neurosurgeon sounds an awful lot like Frank Oz.

  • Lol. Cuz it is Frank Oz.

  • Of course.

  • I love how little Ricky is heard shouting about what's happening and turning the lights on, but his lips aren't moving. :)

  • that kid gets right on my tits.I wanted superman to punch him right in the head so his brain explodes

  • lol UK-TV cut FTW!!

  • Ummmm.. these scenes were in the movie jackasses.

  • Yep, this is from UK TV, early or mid 80s.

  • none of these scenes were ever deleted from the us versions.

  • Yeah. I imported Superman 3&4 from Americaa before they released them over here in the UK

  • You are right, it's a TV cut. I chose wrong words at the time of posting.

  • The guy being operated on is the same guy sitting next to Ricky on the subway with the hat on LOL

  • WOW. GOOD catch!!!!!

  • This is NOT Harold Ramis as the surgeon. It IS Frank Oz.

  • Yay for Frank Oz!

"One unused profolactic... one profolactic... SOILED."

  • I am confused because this scene is in the dvd version I got so what was deleted.

  • Doc looks a lot like the director Lester to me.

  • I wonder if anyone here ever read the novelization for the film, by William Kotzwinkle. It's very, very dark and sarcastic and the surgeon in the hospital scene has one line in the book, something to the effect of "One wrong move and this man will be a brain-damaged moron". The fight at the gas station is a bit less comical, and it's revealed that Gus was expelled from high school after a teacher "backed into his open switchblade", if memory serves.

  • Hospitals have emergency generators for this sort of thing (you know, evil computers sucking off the power liens). I used to think it was so frightening that the computer took over and turned that woman into a robot, but now it just seems kind of ludicrous.

I actually thought the surgeon sounded kind of like Frank Oz.

  • Exactly. Emergency generators.

  • What was deleted?

  • I dont get this? This scene has always been in the Superman 3 movie when ive seen it.

  • the hospital quick scene with harold ramis was not in the final cut. you must have always seen it on network tv..or they added it to the recent dvd release (which i dont have)

  • yes i think it was from this movie

  • lol that was good. thnks " is that me?"

  • Sounded/looked like Egon from Ghostbusters. Probably was.

    Glad you liked it though.

  • that was definitely harold ramis. good eye.

  • @scoobdogg187 the doctor was actually frank oz, who talked for some of the muppets.

  • @scoobdogg187 It's Frank Oz. Famous for his work with The Muppets and directing many hit movies.
