that was just...beautiful. its amazing how something as simple as a trainer introducing his son to racehorse can really have an affect on you. that place was a bit gloomy i think, depressing. it almost felt as if that was his last day and they were saying goodbye, even though it was far from his last day, he wasnt even injured yet. sweet barbaro, sometimes i believe you never left. and i know that youre not gone, sweet boy, youre just sleeping. rest in peace, champion.

This has to be one of the most beautiful moments ever in Barbar's life and for Michael and his son. Iagine Michael and his son watching this together many times as they both get older. What a gift the Hennagan Brothers have given them and all of us who love Barbaro so.

What a sweet and human clip showing Michael Matz allowing his son to pet Barbaro. It again confirms my belief that our champ was fortunate to have the professional training and love from such a genuine and caring man.

Thank you for sharing these wonderful clips. While it was tragic what happened to Barbaro, I've been waiting for someone to post something that celebrates the Magnificent, talented horse that he was. The clip of Michael Matz introducing his son to Barbaro is a bonus...Michael has been a hero of mine since I was a young girl watching him in the grand prix (I'm from the showjumping world), he's a true horseman and a gentleman.

Michael has been my hero since I first read about him and Jet Run in a book called Clear Round in the late 70s. He is a gentleman. Very soft spoken. The consumate horseman. I would give my eye teeth to have the talent he has in his pinky. I've always mused that Barbaro could've done anything Michael asked him to do. If Michael were riding him, he could've done Grand Prix!
