This is just temporary til I get something better. Call ctr is not a job that u look forward to work 10 yrs from now. I used to work in a call center before. I like the company, but I don't like some of my co-workers. Those bad apples I know are crass, political kiss asses and perverts. They are unprofessional and distracts other people at work. The boss even sides with these people, and told me that they are "normal". And God, I don't smoke or drink, and they keep pressuring me to do it, and if you refuse or don't get along, they'll think you are some kinda freak. I'm glad that I quit.
But in all fairness there were a lot of nice people too. The company I used to work does not need the kind of people I mentioned from my last comment.

@rafcute1 Unfair comment. I have worked for a YEAR in one of these call centers, only to confront micro-managing bosses and politics all the time. That's the reason I don't like these places of work. I got burned out and worse, I did not acquire any new skill in these places. Those who move up in these places are TOADIES and BOOTLICKERS.

This song kind of depresses me. It's not cuz I've been working for three years in a call center, it's because I don't really have a choice. I've got habits that need feeding boys and girls.
It pays. You can work in a call center for 2 to 3 years but it is not that stable. Not unless you would really do your best and get promoted to a managerial position. It's quite tiring if you'll be an agent for more than 3 years or so. It's boring. Regarding the college graduates, it's still your perrogative i you want to pursue your profession.

i used to work in a call center for over a year...a few months after i resigned ni-release 'tong song na 'to...i didn't find it offensive kasi totoo nman lahat ng lyrics nun eh.^^

I used to work in a call center before. I like the company, but I don't like some of my co-workers. Those bad apples I know are crass, political kiss asses and perverts. They are unprofessional and distracts other people at work. The boss even sides with these people, and told me that they are "normal". And God, I don't smoke or drink, and they keep pressuring me to do it, and if you refuse or don't get along, they'll think you are some kinda freak. I'm glad that I quit.

@rafcute1 Unfair comment. I have worked for a YEAR in one of these call centers, only to confront micro-managing bosses and politics all the time. That's the reason I don't like these places of work. I got burned out and worse, I did not acquire any new skill in these places. Those who move up in these places are TOADIES and BOOTLICKERS.

I dont understand why a lot of people hold grudges about the call center industry and the its people.my take on this.its the stereotypical pinoy.crab mentality,jealousy and the likes.thats why we have been left so far behind.if you do math,esp sa mga taong "just talk but no walk"..this is the most promising industry that can positively save our sinking ship.so at we can stop our proffessional/assetts na maging maid sa ibang bansa.

There's always at least 1 bad apple in every basket, 1 rotten tomato. Nagkataon lang na mas maraming call center agent sa pilipinas, hence mas maraming bad bananas.

Not in the call center where I used to go last year. I was working somewhere in QC. Next to our building are shops just like this one. I won't say what company that is, but it's in Munoz, not far from the INC temple. The place is like a suburb, but there are development projects here and there.

It pays. You can work in a call center for 2 to 3 years but it is not that stable. Not unless you would really do your best and get promoted to a managerial position. It's quite tiring if you'll be an agent for more than 3 years or so. It's boring. Regarding the college graduates, it's still your perrogative i you want to pursue your profession.
